Gundi***e is a lovely place. Right at the edge of a wildlife area. A short walk takes you up to a tower that has a breathtaking view of the sharavati river backwaters. The food is homely as well. But all this pales when you meet the people - it is like going back in time to your native place to a house with your grandparents. The place feels like home in a way very few places can. We had gone as a group and the entire family sat together with us by the porch and we had a group conversation like we would have had in our native place ancestral home. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

As described in my title, this place is like a paradise in the woods. There're ***y things which attract someone to this place. The ambience, food and the hospitality is the best .Our stay felt like we have come to a place where we know everyone and felt a little sad while leaving the place. Its a best place to distance yourself from the Negativity around you and get absolute peace of mind. This is an accommodative place for anyone who wishes to work from here. The place is equipped with strong and stable Broadband connection and even the hotspot can be activated with your jio/BSNL sim cards. ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ತಪ್ಪಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ‌ ಗುಂಡಿ ಮನೆಯ ಆಥಿಥ್ಯ ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಅನುಭವ. ಗುಂಡಿ‌ ಮನೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಲು ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ‌ ಮೆರುಗು. :-) Thanks for the awesome memories and experience.

First up, the owners were extremely hospitable and gracious. With the mobile n/w a hit and miss here, they had specifically communicated to download offline maps . The room location and services were all satisfactory. The breakfast that was served was also excellent (neer dose) .However the complaint was on the dinner and that too on the quality of the rice. My mother had tough time consuming the thick rice as she isn't used to eating it. Hardly I see anywhere this kind of rice being used anywhere these days. The spread of the food was also pretty average. Having attend various homestays around different districts of Uttara Kannada, Hassan and Chikmaglur, this is the only place I felt that we left the place without a satisfactory food. I understand that the hosts haven't kept additional maids/helpers to support them. And being elderly couple they will have issues with mobility. It would not be good on part of guests to expect a big spread of dishes. But people come out to holidays for enjoying and food is indeed a major part of it. So from that perspective it was not ideal for us. Otherwise a nice scenic property and nature lovers definitely will have a great time. The owner Mr Ganapathi Rao, himself is a nice person to help you around in planning the itinerary. From the cost perspective as well , it was fair on the pockets. I would like to visit the place in future ,since I am not a big foodie personally :-(

This is a perfect place if you want to be in a serene environment, in the midst of woods, undisturbed by crowds, noise and pollution. The additional bonus is warm hospitality by a homely couple and their entire family. The extraordinary warmth and care the hosts showered on us, gave us a feeling as if we visited a close kin whom we had missed for ***y years. This is such a contrast to checking into a hotel or resort, where we would have been faced with a sterile environment (all in the name of hygiene) and artificial warmth. We went as a large family with a diverse age group - including young, middle aged and aged - and none of us felt out of place. This is not a place, in case you are looking for services and attendants that come with a regular hotel stay. This is place to be in case you want to be with yourself, nature and homely hosts.

I would recommend Gundi***e to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with amazing & healthy home food in Sagara! The hosts were just perfect. They were polite, considerate, sociable, helpful and quiet. It felt good, safe and comfortable to have them living there. I would Gundi***e to every one visiting Sagara!
