This was our first time to Martinhal and from the moment we arrived, it just felt perfect. Great location - exceptional accommodation - delicious food - helpful and happy staff - fantastic facilities - loads of stuff for the kids - several pools around the resort - extremely clean and tidy - good weather - not too hot which was perfect for the young children - wished we'd booked for longer!!

Regressamos mais uma vez ao Martinhal Sagres com a nossa família (2 adultos +2 crianças). Mais uma vez saímos de lá com as crianças a chorar por terem que sair, o que diz muito do ambiente e atmosfera boa e saudável que se vive no Martinhal. Todos os funcionários muito profissionais, simpáticos , facilitadores e acima de tudo compreensivos quando se trata de crianças. Vamos voltar seguramente

I cannot recommend the Martinhal Sagres enough for families with young kids. Everything is fantastic and catered towards children. In particular i was so impressed with the food for both adults and kids. Our meals were delicious and the kids had such a variety with plenty of healthy options for them. There is even a baby puree menu if you need it!

We visited in June with my husband and two young children (2 and 4 years). The hotel is really geared up for young families. I would say everything is perfect for children up to 6 years of age. There a several pools onsite and 2 inside pools. All the pools are heated and therefore perfect for little children. Sagres can be quite breezy so our kids particularly enjoyed the inside pool which had noodles and a little slide. There was a huge outdoor playground right next to one of the bars and restaurants. For us this was our favorite space. The kids were able to run and play whilst we had a drink or just in between courses. The playgound contained trampolines, bouncy castles and slides. Both my kids could have played there for hours each evening. The hotel rooms are clean and fresh. The beds comfortable. I liked that the hotel didn't have any loud music playing so kids bedtimes were not affected by noise.

Firstly, this is a beautiful resort. The pools are great and the playgrounds are super for the kids. The houses are lovely and for the most part we had a lovely stay. But the restaurants and bar seemed very unorganised with untrained staff. We were nearly an hour after check-in time (3pm) before we got our keys despite being on site from 1.30 and the first evening the kitchen lost our order and it was nearly two hours from arriving at the restaurant until getting food. Needless to say with a 2yr old and a 4yr old that didn't get a nap after late checkin and were then up late and hungry waiting for food, it was far from an ideal start to the holiday. We didn't rely on the on-site bar/restaurant for most of the rest of our trip and mostly drove into Sagres town and had some amazing food and service at the restaurants there (The Laundy and Arte Bianco stand out). All in all we had a lovely holiday once once we knew where to spend our time wisely.

Just returned from a 7 night stay in Villa no25, the furthest from the centre of the resort but still just a 10 minute walk. We were a group of 2 grandparents, mum and dad and two grandchildren of 4 & 2. The facilities for the little ones were great, lots of playgrounds and swimming pool options. Meal times can be a little chaotic as almost all guests have tots in tow. However, this means that the grown ups can relax a little and not worry about the children making a little noise. The staff were excellent with the young ones and there are plenty of options to keep them occupied at meal times. Half Board, while not cheap, worked well for us. Breakfast is largely buffet style but reasonable choice and quality. Dinner was a three course affair and could take 90 minutes or so - a real test of patience for little ones who want to play….but the children quickly got in to a good routine. The beach area is lovely, clear blue water and white sand. Overall the staff make this place!
