It is a rare occurrence how one member of staff can ruin a vacation experience, but that is absolutely what just occurred for my family during our spring break trip (April 4-7). This is an older Candlewood that is maintained rather well. It was clean and, although not particularly impressive, average and acceptable. This was a spring break getaway for my 11 year old niece her cousin of the same age. I had originally booked a Holiday inn Express in a more centralized location, vitally important to us, due to the the indoor pool. Not long after, I found an affordable Staybridge Suites, also in a good location. The downside was a lack of indoor pool. So I called the front desk and was told that their guests had complete access to the indoor pool at the HIE located across the street, which is very common. Eventually I located this Candlewood location for an even better rate. Like most (or all) Candlewoods, there is no indoor pool. So, yet again, I called the front desk and was GUARANTEED that hotel guests had access to the indoor pool at the Holiday Inn located across the street. I booked for the three nights based on this information, even though this location was quite inconvenient compared to the previous two mentioned. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk clerk. The same could he said for every other staff member I encountered. With one glaring exception. During check in, I inquired about how to access the indoor pool at the Holiday inn. Before the young, African American desk clerk could even respond, an older, mostly bald white guy (likely some kind of manager) inserted himself, clearly annoyed, by claiming he had never heard of such a thing.... implying that I was lying about my discussion with a desk clerk the prior evening. I had to ask him to please reach out to the Holiday Inn to find out the details, since this was something I had been promised. When I had to come back by the desk on my own, this older white gentleman proceeded to claim that after contacting the Holiday Inn, he was told that it was not a possibility dye to ”liability concerns.” Even though the hotel in question actively rents out their pool to non guests for birthday parties, etc. This gentleman offered no apology, no alternatives and was quite clearly annoyed at having to be bothered in the first place. We ended up having to pay really pricey fees to a local community recreational indoor pool 20 minutes away. This older white man was rude, aloof and offered no help. I am really quite interested in the special liability concerns that kept this hotel from being able to fulfill the promise made to my family and I myself. I would, in particular, like to know why it is not a liability concerns for other IHG properties in the same city to have an identical set up. Even if this particular Holiday Inn claimed that, could this gentleman not have asked about us paying a small fee? Sign a waiver? Anything....? This particular fellow was

What a great place. Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful both in the evening and morning. Location of hotel is easy to get to and easy to get back on i70. Also plenty of food options nearby, if your not interested in that they did have in house options. Parking is plentiful, just drive around back if front is full. We didn’t hang around hotel, but there were several gathering places that were well laid out. Our room was super clean, comfortable, and quiet. Great stay.

We arrived on a Wednesday night, after reserving a “balcony” room with two double beds. Our party included two adults and two children (as confirmed via our online booking). Upon arrival our room had only three sets of towels. Upon contacting the front desk, we were told that we could come down to pick up additional, as they didn’t have staff to deliver. We DID notice a housekeeper cleaning “front of house” areas, but evidently delivering items to guest rooms wasn’t part of her job description. Our room did NOT have a balcony. It wasn’t of major importance to us, however, we DID pay more (per room night) for this feature. When it was brought it to the attention of the front desk (“manager” Alicia or Amanda?), she kindly adjusted our rate. However, when checking out on Sunday, we found that while 3 nights were “adjusted” appropriately, our Thursday night rate was actually increased $20. This was above and beyond our quoted balcony room rate. (We were in a standard room for the duration of our stay.) This concern was brought to the attention of the front desk clerk working on Sunday morning. She explained that her “manager” wouldn’t be in until mid-afternoon, and she had no “access” or rights to adjust room rates. We find this unacceptable- not having a Manager on Duty “on site”, who can handle guest problems during a Sunday morning (mass) checkout. The clerk we spoke to did not apologize, and seemed indifferent to our concern. Also observed in the lobby was (what appeared to be) a non-hotel guest “transient” sitting on the couch and “tweaking” (rocking, talking to self, urinated on carpeted floor). The person asked us for money, and hotel staff appeared to allow this person’s presence in their lobby setting (rather than encouraging her to “move along”. Is this common practice? The hotel decor is beautiful, and the landscaping well-kept (sprinkler system was working throughout out stay). Parking lot was to be resurfaced. Our key cards didn’t work on several occasions, thus causing us to return from 7th Floor to front desk for reprogramming. Lastly, the majority of the sandwiches, salads, and wraps in the sellf-serve cafe area had reached their expiration dates. But, the breakfast buffet offered within the lower level dining area exceeded our expectations. This property has much potential. However, management and staff will have to pay better attention to detail if they hope to advance to the next level!

Breakfast is available, this is the most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in in the United States for two weeks, but the hotel is not very big, but it is also very warm. There is a shuttle bus at the airport exit 18, which can be reached directly to the hotel in a few minutes. The beds in the United States are large enough to sleep in a family of three. The parking lot seems to be free.

The album is suitable, the price is not expensive, there is that shuttle bus, very convenient, just opposite the airport. The room is big enough, spacious enough, the service is very good, the only bad thing is that there is no food around.

Great location next to entertainment. Clean rooms, though a bit dated. Check in was smooth. Service wasn't very responsive when asked for pillows or a missing remote. Never got a remote for a two night stay. Pillows never delivered first night after going to the front desk to ask for them.

My daughter and I stayed here during a soccer tournament over Labor Day weekend. The staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel was clean. The parking garage is a great parking option. The location was very convenient to the highway. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

The Sleep Inn in O'Fallon is a very expensive place to stay. However, it is not a beautiful spotless place to stay. I stayed there 3 nights 7/15/2022 to 7/18 and it cost me $437.29. The breakfast was good and plenty of it. They are blaming Covid, I guess because their policy is to not clean the rooms unless you asked. The room was just an average motel room that could have used an upgrade, or maybe a good cleaning! The rug was dirty and stained pretty bad, my bed spread had big gross stains, there was dirt all around the edges of the bedroom and the bathroom and to top it off tons of dog hair on the back of the curtain and on the chair in the room. They are way over priced! It appears they treat their dog guests better than the humans that stay there. I stay here a lot but its a problem every time and it goes more and more down hill, blaming a lack of staff.

Very Good
GGuest UserMy husband and I booked the King Deluxe, and upon inspecting the room, I can see that the furniture was not cleaned, it was old and dusty and had stains on it. The carpet looked like it hadn't been clean in years. The room had a bad smell to it, the bathroom area was pretty decent. I've stayed at Ameristar a few times, and I can honestly say, this was one of the worse experiences I had staying there. Ameristar PLEASE DO BETTER!
SSongbird865This is one of the best Hampton Inns we have been to. As Diamond members we have stayed at alot of locations. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room very clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast staff kept up with restocking and cleaning tables. Only negative was the luggage carts which were hard to maneuver and get into the elevator and room.
BBeijingaliang#Praise#For location, bedding comfort, adjacent stores, room layout, hotel smell satisfaction; classic global standardized hardware configuration, complete facilities and fine health services, the hotel provides 24-hour fresh coffee with a distinctive taste and is recommended. Staying feels good, cost-effective, highly recommended for travelers in need to choose to stay at this hotel!
GGuest UserDON'T stay at this hotel! I had to fill the ice bucket at the sink to wash myself in the shower! There was virtually no pressure out of the shower and no hot water. I accidentally kicked something at the edge of the bed and it turned out to be a car side view mirror. Neither the room or the hallways had been vacuumed in a long time. Dirty towels were piled in the hallway for the entire duration of our stay. The only time there was someone at the front desk was when I checked out, the rest of the time a sign was posted to pick up the phone and call. Everyone at breakfast had to wait a long time for any eggs to show up. The juice machine was empty and never taken care of. I complained about the shower at checkout and the owner promised a partial refund. I called the next day and asked where the refund was since it didn't show up on my credit card, and they stated it had been processed. It never did show up. I complained about this hotel to Holiday Inn, but nothing has happened regarding my complaint. From now on I will only stay at a Holiday Inn as a last resort!
