Just delightful! Beautiful property, beach, and pool. It is quite secluded and you need to use a taxi or rent a car if you need groceries, or prefer to eat away from the hotel. Very pricey food and drinks, but I suppose that’s to be expected. The property should consider adding a gift shop for snacks, other essentials.

Do not visit here.. Property is run down. my husband and I were there for 5 days.. worst vacation Ever.. The front desk manager Gentra was the rudest thing.. The room was dirty.. cobb webs everywhere.. And this is supposed to be a marriot property.. Pick another property because this one is not it.. There is no one wi-fi in the room.. We had to go to the front t desk to use our phones.. Ridiculous ..Property is run down looks nothing like the pictures.. Runnn!

Took my mom for Mother’s Day Brunch at the resort’s Saman Carambola Beach Resort Restaurant I would not recommend this place. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed and wishing I had spent my money elsewhere. Although they advertised Brunch there were no breakfast items on the menu it seemed to be their dinner menu. We were there on time & were promptly seated however after getting drinks & placing our order it took an hour to get our food. The servers while polite seemed inexperienced & unfamiliar with basic food service protocols. When the food finally arrived it was absolutely disappointing- besides the poor presentation it was cold, the mashed potatoes gritty, the steak hard, the shrimp & asparagus rubbery & the fish completely dried out. These dishes were not worth the $45-55 price tag! We swatted flies off the table the entire time & then off the food when it finally arrived. Two of our party only got first drinks & the third person’s second drink order was substituted without any consult or choice. After speaking with the manager the drinks were taken off the tab. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

We spend a week at the Carambola in late April and it was divine! The rooms were clean and spacious; the layout was easy to navigate; the staff was friendly; and the beach was GORGEOUS! I had a really good time there and don't miss the breakfast!

Rooms were nice and roomy, beds comfy, however the pool was green with algae and there was trash about the resort. Loved The secluded location. Employees were nice. Not happy paying that much and then not being able to utilize the pool area! ID willing to give it a second try only after inspecting the facilities

This is not Marriott quality!!! Marriott purchased this boutique hotel and then abandoned the remodel. All the pictures are from pre-hurricane 2018. It’s rundown, the pool is dirty and all tiles are popping up. Trip hazard(I actually fell at the pool due to a hazardous area). The bar restaurant is the only place to eat after 11 am and it’s the same food burgers and pizza all day long. Drinks are good, but no pool or beach service. The beach chairs and umbrellas are falling apart(all five of them) The grounds were not mowed or well kept. Airconditioning was not working in our room, we had to switch on the 4th night to another room. Breakfast was the same few buffet items every morning, but Patricia was delightful-super nice and attentive. Most of the staff was very friendly and did the best that they could (they all get 5 stars) The beach view (gets 5 stars) the view is incredible, but I would never recommend anyone waist their money or Bonvoy points on this place! I should have listened to the reviews! It’s worse than was described.

Almost 2.5 years after this article was written the property is still outdated & poorly maintained. It’s sad that a property with so much potential is in disrepair and management seems content to let its decline continue. We checked in recently and our first impression was it’s good enough to sleep at and that’s all we need to do here. We spent much of our time away in Christiansted, on excursions & at Buccaneers beach & resort. I appreciate that the recent rain storms & flooding likely affected the beach area (atleast I hope that’s why it’s in such bad shape) but that doesn’t excuse why no one is raking and cleaning it up. There are not chairs & umbrellas set up for guests. I had to find an umbrella in a pile stacked in the ground behind some rundown closed “beer stand” and put it in the ground & up on my own with the 2 chairs I found and dragged down to the beach. Also, trash such as plastic cups, water bottles and other trash are left laying all over the grounds. The years of neglect are obvious throughout the property. The pics & videos are misleading & heavily edited. We read numerous bad reviews also stating what I have said & they are justified. Very disappointing. Major changes have to be made before we’d even consider returning.

First off let me say that im happy i didn’t listen to the reviews. I read previously that the water is cold during showers. Its actually not the shower head to turn on is very complicated.. At first i thought it was cold but as I adjusted the water was hot. The stay was amazing & food was delicious. Transportation we ordered a head of time and drivers were always on time. Overall our stay was elite. We did a few Escursions with mermaid tours and viexoticwatersports. I must say 5 stars all the way.
