Glendower

Location wise you can’t get any better, right in the heart of St David’s. Staff wise absolutely brilliant, very caring and pleasant, they were very accommodating with our arrival time given we were running very late, and were very helpful and friendly thought out. The only downside was the room itself, it was dark, not well ventilated and never seemed to get dry, and that was in the middle of summer. This is partly a feature of an older property of which there are many in St David’s, but I would suggest only suitable for short stays.

The guest house is a little old fashioned but none the worse for that. Certainly quiet, my wife slept right through the night which is the first for many years! The breakfast was lovely. The only comment we'd make is that the towels are past their best and the small step in the shower room was a little hazardous.

Stayed on 2 separate occasions at Glendower through August and September. Really impressed at this traditional B&B the rooms were comfortable and above all clean. The top floor rooms 8&9 have stunning views across the cathedral, Bishops Palace and out toward the sea - nice to sit and have a hot chocolate to view the sunset. You get a decent breakfast always served efficiently and with a smile. It’s good to know St David’s has a top notch B&B at its heart. Ps no parking but always managed on the pebbles.

We normally try and stay in hotels now but tried a couple of B&Bs on this trip around Wales and this one was fine and reasonably priced. No car park but free parking down the narrow road next door but one (Entrance to the Cathedral). Limited spaces but we were lucky to get one but a larger car park not too far. Our room was on the top floor with a double and single bed for 2 of us so not bad space.Great view over the cathedral. As an attic room there was a sloping roof over the bath so no shower. 2 flights of narrow stairs. The room was bright and airy and very clean if a bit dated. Safe Covid precautions too. Everyone was friendly and there was a great cooked breakfast with just enough choice. Would stay here again. The Bishops pub has good real ale and serves great pub food at very reasonable prices and the Farmers Arms is great for a pint afterwards.

Lovely little b and b clean and breakfast was lovely Worth what we paid it was a pleasure to stay I have given 3 stars only as I feel like most b and b we have stayed in could do with a bit of new decor and refurbishment. Excellent location, very good breakfast and friendly staff.

Glendower is in a central location in St Davids, so great for walking to the cathedral, shops, pubs and cafes and I was also able to walk to three nearby beaches and also along the coastal path. I had booked but arrived in the evening and had a warm welcome. The ensuite room was comfortable and cosy with tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. The shower was hot and good pressure and I had a good night's sleep. The view of the cathedral from the window was a bonus. I had a delicious breakfast and my coeliac disease (gluten free) was well catered for with g/f cereal and bread. There was also yogurt and fruit available. I had a well cooked breakfast with juice and plenty of coffee. The staff were so helpful and friendly.They also very kindly let me leave my rucksack during the day which enabled me to explore without a big heavy bag. Thank you so much.

Cozy B&B, close to cathedral, restaurants, shops. Terrific breakfast!
