Bay Retreat Villas

Such a disappointment after so looking forward to our stay. We arrived in the evening so it wasn't until our first morning we started uncovering the sheer lack of cleanliness and hygiene in the property. We immediately contacted someone who arrived promptly and simply said "yeah, I suppose I should have checked it but we're short staffed". They offered to clean it but with this attitude we had little faith the property would be any better and it would have taken a full day to get it to an acceptable level. We were contacted by the company who own the property (not Hoeseasons) who said they could try and find other accomodation but it was a bank holiday weekend and we had little faith it would be any better. Luckily we had a relative in the county, who took pity on us and let us stay with them for the remainder of the weekend. To make it worse, despite providing evidence, we had to fight for a refund and still did not end up with a full refund. Please avoid this property; such a huge disappointment. What should have been a relaxing weekend just caused so much stress and upset which then continued in the fight for a refund.

Just returned from a three night stay. This was our second visit and we really enjoyed it in spite of the weather! The villa (No. 8) was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you could wish for in respect of self-catering. We really enjoyed the large, smart TV and the outside patio with seating when the sun did shine. Would not hesitate to recommend these villas as everything including nearby beaches and Padstow is easily accessible. The Venue Bar (5 minutes walk away) is also very good.

We were definitely disappointed and would rate a 2/3 star not 4. It was very dirty, dust hanging from the ceiling, cobwebs, mouldy blinds and oven, dirty towels, yellow pillowcases. Everything was dated and we had to wash pans / crockery etc before we could use it. The location was great for driving to local beaches etc, and the apartment was warm, but it really smelt when we arrived so we had to febreeze it all. So wouldn’t stay again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Bay Retreat Villa's and will be coming back. The accommodation is first class and in a good location. I highly recommend it.

Lovely villa, great windows to look out to the stars from the main bedroom at night. Close to padstow and the beaches. Highly recommended. only gripe was a few things showing age in the villa and looks like it may need a bit of a deep clean in places. Also didn't get any toiletries with the villa so ********** maybe wrong about this.

We couldn't fault the house itself. Very clean and modern. However, we were promised a smart TV, which is wasn't. The tv in the bedroom didn't work. The master bed was broken, sadly it was more like a seesaw. "The venue" was nice enough but wouldn't spend a huge amount of time there unless we can sit outside. The live music was very enjoyable. The location was a little difficult, you couldn't really go anywhere without a car and the taxi services in that area were awful!! Also, the welcome packs need updating as the taxi numbers are out of date, or the companies were nowhere near us. Don't get me wrong, we had a really lovely stay and if it weren't for the location, we'd stay again. There were just a couple of ******* that need looking at. Oh, and the fridge wasn't cold enough.

Truly a home away from home

Clean and comfortable villa. Private and very quiet. Well equipped and all the amenities you would expect. Having WiFi in Cornwall is an added bonus. Very useful having two bathrooms, and lovely to have your own little garden to sit and have a coffee Great to have a private drive for parking. Would definitely stay again.

Just had a fantastic break away at Bay Retreat, lovely accommodation and very clean. Quiet location with short drive to nearby beaches and Padstow which has lovely restaurants and quant shops. Only slight negative was the sitting area, the chairs and settee were not particularly comfortable, but this would certainly not stop us returning.
