Great hotel in St Helier with friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean rooms with the usual facilities. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choices. Lovely bar which serves great food. No problem with parking when we were there. Would certainly stay there again.

This hotel was a surprise. Very friendly, very polished, everything new and extremely clean with everything in its place. A glass of wine offered on our arrival, and complimentary full cooked breakfast with prepayment. The rooms were perfect with complementary water. The beds and linen were luxurious. Everything extremely clean. I wasn’t expecting such a refined experience.

My husband wrote an email for activity experience enquiry. No response after 10+ days. We then called to check and was told no email was received (I was on cc and i received the email) and was also told not to call them but send an email to another email address. No response after 10+ days again. Not to mention the rudeness from calls with reception and poor responses from operation management. We now understand more about this so called luxury hotel after reading many reviews here. Not sure what kind of luxury hotel this place is but we are sure that it has zero customer service. Not sure how this place got the 2024 award but these poor/ & terrible reviews definitely tell you more.

Our first room was disgusting. Hair in bath, dirty toilet, hairs, dirt and a toenail on the floor. Stains on bed. Basically it hadn't been cleaned and thing's were falling apart because of a lack of upkeep. Staff were friendly when confronted with the mess and they quickly put us in a new room. Unfortunately that was dirty too, but not as bad so they gave it a good clean. We hoped that was it until I got to the spa. Wow what a joke! It literally in disrepair! It's actually a health and safety hazard! Emergency electric buttons hanging off walls, wallpaper peeling off, sharp little tiles in the steam room all over the floor, the tiles were falling off as I was sitting there! Dirt everywhere. The dirty falling apart hotel and spa it our new name for it now! You can't charge hundreds of pounds for a room and call yourself 5 star. I will be contacting the Jersey rating people as well. We complained again and wrote a letter to the hotel giving them the opportunity to somehow make things right but the managers had left already (it was only 5pm) and the girl at the desk was unable to offer anything but apologies! We may have stayed if they offered some sort of discount! I did have a massage which was nice and the lady was lovely but that's the only positive unfortunately.

The reception staff are very welcoming, although in general we failed to experience the ‘amazing’ staff presence/enthusiasm other reviews have mentioned. Very clean rooms, although most are very close to the main road so there is some noise from that, although nothing that kept us awake. What did keep us awake though, until well after midnight, was the noise of the music from the private event in the function space directly below our room (218) and the very loud chatter and laughter from those enjoying the event who were on the outside patio, which was directly beneath our room. When I went down to reception at 00:20 in the morning reception said they could ask for the music to be turned down (like that would happen) but that was all. Being as the hotel wasn’t full (reception confirmed when I asked), why were we put in a room directly in the line of the event noise when the hotel knew the private event was going on?! It ruined our experience of the hotel really as we were there for a relaxing break for a few nights to escape some family health dramas. So long as you’re mobile on foot, it was a great location for the shops and restaurants, and not too far from the bus station. Breakfast was adequate, but not 5* standards. The ‘smashed avocado on sourdough’ was more like shop bought guacamole on white toast We visited out of season though, so wasn’t expecting the breakfast offering to be particularly big, but there was plenty enough variety for a long weekend stay.
