Chipman Hill Suites - Sydney Street

Chipman Hill Suites was everything we required and more for a comfortable, cozy accommodation in Downtown Saint John’s. Our suite included a very nice sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom. We were also able to enjoy relaxing in the large living room and solarium. I can’t praise the staff, especially Grace and her manager, highly enough. When we had some confusion over parking, they very swiftly put matters right. We stayed for 6 nights and would definitely return again.

I had to make an emergency trip to New Brunswick to be with my daughter before her surgery. Saw Chipman Hill Suites when looking for someplace to stay & it just looked like a wonderful place to stay, so I made a phone call to inquire about booking for a short stay. I had the pleasure of speaking to Rocio just as they were closing for the day. She took the time to explain the cost & asked that I call back the next day. Called back Saturday afternoon and Rocio went above & beyond trying to find the perfect place closest to the hospital and buses. My room was wonderful & cozy and was setup so I could cook something instead of spending extra money having to go out to eat. Olha came each day while I was out and made my bed and tidied up, so that when I returned each evening my room was a sanctuary, They also have the most amazing sunroom on the first floor, where I would enjoy my coffee each morning. This was a stressful time for me made less stressful by the wonderful staff at Chipman Hill. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The property is in great shape and a wonderful old building. The rooms are spacious and well appointed as well. While it may seem old that just adds to its charm. I appreciated the self check in of the property. The area however is like some of Saint Johns unfortunate less than safe feeling areas, but that's not the property's fault so I won't hold that against them.

The character of this place is impressive. The perfect venue for a family and/or friends gathering. The solarium was my favourite spot to sit and relax. The kitchen table accommodated everyone for dinner. It’s the perfect place for a reunion if you are to book the entire house.

Every aspect of the building was gorgeous - the Chris**as decorations could not have been more stunning! The room was perfect for our stay, and we very much appreciated the kitchenette. The location was great for access to uptown Saint John as well.

This property is beautiful, you think you live 150 years ago. What a beautiful house, the sitting room, living room, winter garden, we had the room with the balcony. I wish we would have had more nights. But the parking is a night mare. During the day was not a problem, but in the evening, we came in at around 22h OMG. We parked were we told to park across by the school, but then we had to move by 7am to a different spot, and than find one. We lucked out after 1 hr searching, we of the guest left and we could get his spot.

Tastefully decorated suite in a beautiful old building. Very clean and bed was exceptionally comfortable..Close and therefore walkable to uptown restaurants and to the Sunday market in Queens Square. Paid for Parking pass in front of building or in any residential area very convenient. Wifi was unreliable, password not always accepted. Disturbing noise emission from the neighbouring building’s a/c prevented us from opening balcony door to vent our suite.These two issues bring down the rating from excellant to great.

Absolutely beautiful property. Spotlessly clean and well-appointed. Very unique building with unique rooms and comfortable common areas. Our work books this spot every year for our Chris**as party and we all look forward to it so much. It's become a home away from home for us.

Excellent stay and accommodations! The building was beautifully decorated for the holidays, which was lovely, and added to our stay as we were travelling for work. The location was terrific and just up the block from our workspace. Complimentary laundry and detergent were a nice touch, especially since we had been on tour and laundry is not always available. I'm considering coming back with friends and family for a weekend getaway. Thank you!
