Loved this place. Loved the breakfasts even more. The owners, Neil and Lalena, were fantastic. Neil personally prepared the most amazing breakfast each morning for us. The rooms were spacious, yet cozy. The historical Victorian home from the mid 1800s was a treat to stay in. The price was extremely reasonable, parkinig free and next to house. The location was minutes from downtown with great views of the harbor. Would stay there again, for sure.

We stayed at Homeport for our ten days in Saint John for the 2022 Memorial Cup playoffs. It was an absolute delight - beautifully appointed, gorgeous mid-1800s architecture, thoughtful proprietors, fantastic breakfasts, spotlessly clean, views out over the harbour - and a resident doe and her fawns. Their care for details is palpable: fresh local strawberries at breakfast, gleaming hardwood floors, beautiful new windows set into the original frames, my favourite Twinings teas in the reception room … It is a couple of minutes’ drive into old Saint John and the heritage district, but a City walking path just a couple of blocks away took us just 15 minutes (and helped us walk off the excellent waffles). We would come back in a heartbeat! [My only caveat: the Inn combines two heritage houses built side-by-side by brothers in the 1800s. A well-designed annex with a light-flooded sitting room connects them, built in 2000, with the main entrance running into it at the rear of the building. However, the Inn is, sadly, not accessible for anyone with mobility challenges, as the Victorian stairs have been beautifully preserved. I have bad knees, but could manage the few stairs up from the entrance, and our suite was on the main floor.] (And do note that most of the negative reviews - as few as they are - were written years back, under different innkeepers.)

Very unique, historic B&B with lovely owners...it's older but that's part of the charm! The bathroom was squeaky clean and we had everything we needed in our standard room. (My cousins' deluxe rooms were more spacious and that's where we gathered for wine and conversation.) Breakfast was delicious, with friendly conversation with the owner/chef. Could've stayed longer!

This property was absolutely beautiful. Our hosts were attentive, breakfast was generous and well prepared. Rooms were clean and spacious. It’s such a lovely old house that made us feel at home and stepping back into another era. Loved it and plan to stay again.

Wonderful service from check-in to check-out! The Captain’s suite was spacious and clean, and the entire inn is filled with wonderful antiques and local historical photos. The breakfast was delightful, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be visiting again on our next trip to Saint John
