We really enjoyed our stay at the Pennywell! Being close to the Arch was great, and we appreciated so much how helpful the staff was! Each time we needed assistance, they were kind and prompt! Thank you, Vi and Alit! All the best in the days ahead!

Conrad Hilton, were he alive, would rescind the Hilton name from the property. No trashbins in the room, the staff when i gave back the room card was so sullen they didnt talk, no tissues in room, shower curtain ripped, water pressure set at firehose level. Stay elsewhere.

My wife and I visited St Louis for the first time - a friends wedding on the weekend, we came a few days early and spent 2 nights at the Pennywell so we could explore downtown. We were very happy with the hotel - it was in a great location with easy walking access to Arch, the Ballpark Village, and several small urban parks. The lobby was very nice, the service was excellent, and our room was very comfortable. We had a drink at the bar, but did not eat at the hotel, so no comment on the food. Parking was fine - there is a valet, but we parked ourselves and had no trouble. We would stay again and we would recommend this hotel to others.

My daughter turned 12 while we were staying at the Pennywell and I asked the bar tender for a candle. Unfortunately we could not burn a candle so we used a battery powered one for my daughter to "blow out" to signify turning 12. When I returned the candle, I met Maurice. He took my daughter to the interior shop and got her a few snacks and a drink on him. He went above and beyond and his generosity didn't go unnoticed. Thank you my friend for making her night! I appreciate you and everything you did. Thank you sir!

The Pennywell is a beautiful old bank building that has been turned into a hotel. The location is ideal, just blocks from the Gateway Arch and Busch stadium. Unfortunately the place needs some attention to detail; our room, for example, had no stopper in the sink and more than one worn holes in the carpeting, as well as some peeling wall paper. Although I had checked in online, our room was not available when we arrived, and although we had been promised a text alert when it was ready, I finally had to inquire at the front desk to find out it had been ready for some time without any text alert. Housekeeping was inconsistent, too - one day,d espite my asking at the front desk three times for our room to be cleaned, it wasn't done until after 6pm. Finally, on our last morning, we decided to try the hotel breakfast and we waited almost an hour for am omelette and some biscuits and gravy, despite other patronsd who came in after us being served, eating and leaving before our orders arrived. Very disappointing for a hotel that promises exceptional service. This was our first trip to St. Louis and when we return, we will look for other hotel options.
