Sun Island Motel

There was no one there when we arrived to check, had to call someone to check in. We stayed two nights, no new towels, no clean sheets or housekeeping - no one literally on site. I attempted to reach out 3 times to report a bath sink stopped up/unusable - no phone calls returned. Very poor business set up.

Loved the apar**ent feel of our room. 3 beds and a full kitchen at a great price.

Quiet property just north of the Corey district.

I have to call them for my room number and code. No information received. I got my room like 8pm because no one answering. And early 10 am someone knocking the door loud. To get us out not good hotel. Very dirty. Not worth i pay for.

Only stayed one night but booked three. No office there and no one answers the phone or calls you back. They were supposed to send you checkin code but nobody did so as I arrived I had to call them and get it! Room was ok but bed linens were not good and smelled. Had a family emergency and had to leave early. I left at 8am and called the number 5 times and left messages. No response at all! Of course they didn’t refund me my money for the two days I didn’t stay there!! Still haven’t heard from those crooks!Don’t waste your money!!!

Room was very clean and smells amazing! Lots of dishes to make a light meal coffee pot and small fridge. Instructions for check in and out was easy to follow. Beds were comfortable. Had no hot water, contacted owner via email and manager on duty. Was told to run all facets (tub, and both sinks) and it would get hot. We let the water in all facets run for 20 min, and finally got like warm water. We gave up after letting it run for 20 min and did not get to shower.

I’m really confused about some of the positive reviews here. This is basically an abandoned motel. When we arrived, there was nobody in the office to help us check in. We waved to the security cameras for 30 minutes and nobody helped or open the door. We ended up finding a local who had a phone and there was a phone number posted on their office. So he helped me call. The lady said I should’ve received check information through an email. Which I did Not. She ended up giving us our room number and the code on the phone. I hung up and went to the room and entered in the code. We discovered that somebody else was actually living in that room. And now we had access to all their belongings. So completely unsafe. After leaving that room, we found somebody else to help us call again since we didn’t have a local phone to use. And she apologized and gave us our room and room number. When we entered the room, it was clean, however we soon discovered that the toilet did not work. It did not flush. We attempted to email them about about four times. But Management did not answer or help us solve the problem. At around 12 AM a party started by the pool area and they were extremely loud until 4 AM. Needless to say we did not sleep that night. Which was super frustrating. Since I had a long day of driving ahead and really needed to get a good nights sleep. We felt very unsafe. We didn’t know if the partiers had *****, or guns. And there was no one to help. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. They need security. They need a hotel manager on site. And to this day they have not responded to my emails.

There was a major business event during my visit. The supply of hotel rooms experienced its serious shortage. This motel charged me $267 per night for a "deluxe" room during the 4-day stay. Never book this motel unless you want to risk yourself. No management on the site. No responses from the listing contacts of email and phone before and after your visit. The only message that you will receive will be the email a day before the check-in. The email tells you the room entry code and reminds you to dump your trash in the trash bin behind the motel before your departure. It looks exactly like a completely abandoned property. No security on the site, except the post of "security cameras on premises." No entrance gate. The dirty pool is open 24 hours for occupants to use at their own risk. The motel is wide open for anybody to enter. No hair dryer. A/C remote control, microwave, and portable cooker were not functioning. Dropping wardrobe closet doors. The back cover of TV remote control was dropping. Dirty and sticky top pillows. The shower didn't work properly and demand repairing. Old and inappropriately maintained room. The most expensive, but worst, hotel/motel that I have stayed.

The bed was not clean.
