Great place to stay, central and convenient..

Very pleasant hotel close to town centre and all amenities including the bus terminus - all bus trips on the island are £1.50 so the two of us travelled from the airport to the centre in under 30 mins for £3. Room was in the annexe and comfortably furnished including a fan which proved ideal at night to circulate the air. Tea and coffee was available in the room and regularly replenished. Clean and comfortable and although it looked out over the courtyard and exterior bar seating (which was closed at 9.30pm) it was very peaceful. Breakfast was good with a choice of a decent selection of continental choices from the buffet (excellent value at £8) or an English option cooked to order for £15. Coffee, included in both options, was particularly good in my opinion. Lunch and dinner is offered at The Pickled Pig, the hotel's pub/bar. Cannot comment upon lunch (beyond stating that the menu appeared to offer good value) but dinner (for which booking is advised) was good informal pub-grub - I particularly recommend the whitebait as a starter and chicken as a main. Wine list is quite good and more reasonably priced than many others. Staff were invariably friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome. What could be done better? Only 2 matters cropped up - (i) parking is cramped which made it sometimes tricky to manoeuvre past motorbikes parked close to the bottom of the spiral staircases (ii) if you are unfamiliar with the town it can be tricky to find the hotel on foot - perhaps a little sign at the top of North Pier Steps would be useful as it is very unclear that it is Lefebvre Street straight ahead and not a courtyard. Would I recommend the hotel or stay there again? Without hesitation ...

Very convenient location close to ferry port and town. Management and staff exceptionally helpful and friendly, rooms clean with large comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Tea, coffee and snacks provided and topped up each day. Great choice of breakfasts (included), cooked to perfection. At all times the staff were polite and attentive. Good pub style food available for lunch and dinner. Accommodation in Guernsey isn’t cheap, given the cost of everything on the island is affected by its comparative isolation, but The Duke of Normandie is good value compared to others. Recommended.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location at St Peter Port, just 5 minutes walk from town centre, shops, pubs, restaurants, ferries and buses. Comfortable room, friendly helpful staff. Great base for exploring Guernsey and the isles of Sark, Herm and Alderney.

Duke of Normandie is excellent in every aspect - perfectly located to shops, restaurants, and the waterfron, with parking aveil. John and his staff are next level - attentive, friendly and very accommodating- and the rooms sensational. There is.a cosy pub onsite (The Pickled Pig) serving food and very reasonable. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We stayed here for a few days to see the island and also the islands of Sark & Herm. The hotel is situated in a quiet street in the centre of St Peter Port. We had a compact room, which we thought was a very good size. Very clean, comfy bed and modern bathroom.We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and dinner on a couple of evenings. The food is excellent and well presented. The staff are all very professional, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return to this hoteal

Stayed in the cottage suite for 4 nights. Nice and spacious, well styled and had everything we wanted. Hotel is in a great central location, a bit uphill from the high street but that’s pretty much par for the course in town. Very friendly staff and a nice bar. Didn’t eat at the Pickled Pig but only because we were so busy and pre booked elsewhere. Will eat there next visit as it looked inviting. Will stay here again.
