Rocco Forte Astoria Hotel

I rate it from the standpoint of price-quality ratio. What is quality in a 5 star hotel and why will I never return to Astoria? The devil is in the details: this is not only the presence of comfortable beds, bathrobes or slippers (although here they turned out to be “easier” than in other 5* hotels in St. Petersburg), but, above all, this is the service for which every guest comes. In Astoria, there was a feeling that you had to constantly ask and remind for service: bring your suitcases, bring a coffee machine to your room (from the second reminder, the maid who came simply killed with an arrogant phrase: “limit, one capsule per person per day”***?) . In the evening, guests are served Alenka candy (very frivolous for a hotel of this level, especially if it has its own line of chocolates from chocolatiers, which are sold in a nearby store). When checking out, the deposit was returned only after contacting the hotel, two days after check-out, which also had to be reminded. There are no welcome drinks (which is the norm for other 5* hotels in St. Petersburg). In general, if you are looking for 5* service, book the Grand Hotel, Helvetia or something like that. Maybe in the suites with a view of the cathedral there is enough space, but we took a standard room and its ergonomics turned out to be a little strange (for example, the door in the bathroom rests on the sink, it’s impossible to get through). In fairness, I would like to note the extremely polite communication of the staff in the entrance area, the girls at the reception and the wonderful bar in the hotel lobby, with excellent coffee and desserts. But you can get into it without booking a room in this hotel.

Satisfied and cost-effective. I am not familiar with the situation when traveling abroad. It is right to choose a chain store.

We rested in this hotel from February 2 to 5, 2024 for my birthday. I was a little worried before arrival, because in large 5* hotels we mostly go to the sea. Astoria is a gorgeous historical place. A harmonious combination of interior - rich, but not pretentious; unobtrusive, but caring service and hospitality. We had a room on the 7th floor with a view of Isaac. Nice and cozy, the kind that makes you want to come back. Overall, I have a very good aftertaste from visiting this place. My birthday was a success. Many thanks to the Astoria team.

Luxurious old hotel in the city center! the epithet Old refers to the time of construction and history, I was pleased with the visit, the service was excellent, the breakfasts were amazing, the choice of dishes, presentation, service, bravo to the staff! In general, the cuisine in the hotel is presented very well. Check-in is quick, the room is clean and comfortable. The hotel is very beautiful! The location is as gorgeous as the views from the window! I will definitely return to visit this hotel!

Astoria is a house in St. Petersburg. The northern capital has something to boast about in terms of hotels, but after visiting its five-star neighbors, I decided for myself that there is nothing better than Astoria. Depending on the type of trip, I choose either an attic room or a superior room with a view of St. Isaac's. The breakfast is wonderful, and the evenings in the Rotunda with friends and partners over long and pleasant conversations, accompanied by the caring service of the hotel staff, are ideal. If our tastes coincide, then I recommend it.

We have been staying in Astoria regularly for the past five years. A**ospheric, upscale St. Petersburg history for connoisseurs of service and the historical past of St. Petersburg. The best breakfasts in St. Petersburg, 5 o'clock tea in the Rotunda, spacious and bright rooms, a compact but equipped gym, delicate housekeeping that does everything possible to make you feel at home away from home... You can write about Astoria long, listing its advantages, but my advice is better to try it yourself and make sure that no hotel in St. Petersburg will greet you as cozy and warm as there ❤
