Courtyard St. Petersburg Downtown

Stayed at this Courtyard for a quick weekend trip to St. Pete. The hotel is a historic building. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although it was an older building the hotel seems to have been recently updated. The rooms were a little on the small side for a Courtyard, but very nice. The location is close to the downtown and Pier area. 15 to 20 min drive to the beach depending on the beach. Very centrally located. My only issue was the amount to park ($37 a night).The valet staff was nice and professional.

When we arrived, there was no entrance road, though this is probably to be expected for a hotel in a city. Instead, we pulled up to the side of the street in front of the main door. We saw some No Parking signs, so my wife waited in the car while I checked in. I asked about parking and the guy was like, wherever you can find it. I already took a quick look and the area around the hotel is marked with "2 hour only" signs, so that wasn't helpful. He said they have valet parking for $35 for 24 hours and you can come and go as often as you like. Since we were only there for one night and since we didn't feel like searching for a space, we took the valet parking. I suppose this is what happens in a city hotel also, but I would have expected the hotel staff to recommend a nearby parking garage or lot. The hotel itself seems old, but like it's been renovated, so everything is clean. Though the elevator seemed very slow. The room was spacious and we had a view of the street and nearby Arts & Crafts Museum. (The hotel is a few blocks from the beach, so don't expect a water view.) The room also had a mini-fridge, which was a good bonus. We watched TV for a little while and noticed they don't get any local channels: no ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox. So we couldn't watch the local news. And I don't remember if they had CNN or Fox News to watch regular news. But overall, this hotel was a reasonable price and it was conveniently located to our activities.

Recently had a great experience at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown St. Pete. The historic building definitely adds a unique charm to the hotel, the rooms are lovely and provide a comfortable stay. But what really sets this place apart is the wonderful staff and the exceptional valet team, including Ashlynn and Megan. Their friendly and helpful service truly enhances the overall experience!

I did not appreciate no notice of a fee to valet park when there is no parking at the hotel. Sounds from the street all night kept me awake. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. It needs MAJOR renovations from the prior hotel it used to be. They need parking ( no valet ) for customers who drive to the hotel.

The desk staff falls short of welcoming or particularly interested in their guest's needs and experience. They also charged me for valet on each night...I did not have a car. Ironically the people running the valet seemed very nice and invested, giving me a warm welcome when I would come and go The hotel all in all does the basic job of a mid-level chain. It's clean and the upkeep is passable. Just don't expect much more.

Great Service & Location

Old hotel but very well kept and clean. Friendly staff. Conveniently walking distance to restaurants, pubs and Tropicana Field. St Pete Pier is also within walking distance. Downside is parking. Parking garage was 2 blocks away from hotel. Valet $35 a day.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

NO HOT WATER. Not only was there no hot water, the staff played it off like it wasn’t real. No care for the guest staying in this hotel. Very unsatisfied.
