Jody and Lisa are both fantastic, unfortunately I did not appreciate dealing with the owner, Patrick. When I called Patrick to book a room, I asked for a room without stairs because of a recent injury, he failed to mention the room he booked me in had a FLIGHT OF STAIRS INSIDE THE ROOM! He said "the room is on the first floor", there are no rooms directly on the main level, this room was below the first floor - so even if I walked around to the front of the house, there were more steps to the front entrance. Patrick booked the wrong nights, I talked with him before arrival about his mistake, he didn't say he was going to charge me more! When I went to pay the bill he had added an extra $22. He was out of town. This Inn is near the railroad, so trains blow their horns all night long. Another guest mentioned that he found earplugs in the room, maybe for the train noise. The room was cramped because there was an extra bed crammed in, there was no dresser or table to put your things on. I noticed fish pond had too many koi fish in it, so the fish were barely covered with water and had no room to move. I cannot recommend this old Inn, or dealing with Patrick.

We had the best time spending the weekend at Main Street Inn! Every detail was perfect, from the coffee, fireplace, and amenity kits in the rooms to the sophisticated-yet-cozy communal spacious sitting rooms and the delicious full breakfast. The bed, linens, and pillows were so perfect that I slept like a baby both nights. We woke up every morning to the smell of breakfast cooking and coffee brewing, which was so comforting and homey. The Inn is within easy walking distance to all the historic treasures and wonderful restaurants, and Patrick shared a wealth of knowledge of the fascinating multicultural history of Ste. Genevieve and historic details of the Main Street Inn. It was a true idyllic small town experience that was an oasis from our busy daily lives. The Inn is a perfect mix of high end historic and sophisticated yet cozy and welcoming. We have traveled all over the world and can safely say Main Street Inn B&B is a special and incredible experience that we will never forget, and we hope to come back again very soon!

I travel a lot globally for my job over 30 years, and stay at some fine Hotel establishments along my journeys. I’ve never stayed at a B&B, and decided to try one out. Wow, I’ve been missing out. The Main Street B&B is one of the most memorable experiences that I had throughout my travels. A wonderful historical environment, clean, friendly, comfortable and very accommodating. All the guests that my wife and I met at breakfast and the 5 pm daily wine and cheese hour were friendly, fun and engaging. The owner host, Patrick, is everything described in the many reviews - an interesting, fun and very special man. The town is amazing and surprised us as well, full of historical buildings and history. The massive Sainte Genevieve church is central to the town and absolutely gorgeous inside. A very holy and special place. We will be coming back soon. I can only image how wonderful this place looks during Chris**as season.

My husband and I travel extensively. We stayed here two nights in late January 2022 on a circuitous route from Indianapolis to Denver. It is one of our top three B&Bs of all time! The Inn is a modernly appointed, restored 1882 building. The spacious building has been designed with several inviting and rather private sitting rooms with fireplaces (no florals or ruffles, men!). We especially appreciated our roomy accommodations on the main level, with Jacuzzi tub, fireplace, high-end linens, and separate entrance. The healthy breakfast, prepared in a serious gourmet kitchen, was served to three separate tables and was of several courses, a reasonable amount, at the time of our choosing (in late January). Two porches (main and upper levels) and books galore provide quiet, outdoor entertainment and intellectual stimulation. There is a grand piano, I suppose for the playing? Afternoon wine and cheese are complimentary and presented by the gracious and personable owner-host, Patrick. Patrick and his wife, Susan, have a penchant for art and history—especially enjoying sharing history of the colorful area. Patrick will gladly give you a tour of the walls’ international artwork. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet his wife as she is one of the hamlet’s physicians. Located near the Mississippi River, downtown Sainte Genevieve is an artsy, walkable village with ample small restaurants and shops. A nearby country drive offers local vineyards for tastings and meals. To complete this genteel village, there is a small, welcoming church with Sunday morning service within walking distance of the Inn. Take a peaceful drive down from I-70 or up from Cape Girard; United States Americana at its best! Will plan future trips around staying here!

We planned our return trip home to Colorado to stay. It was our second visit, and we look forward to our third! This is an 1882 building lovingly restored. Everything is just lovely. Patrick is the best host, full of helpful information and stories while offering a fireside cheese and wine casual social hour. The bed linens are top quality and the room cozy, accommodating, and roomy enough. The building is not drafty or creaky, and the rooms are not feminine. (It would be nice if outside light didn't find its way into the rooms at night for us light sleepers.) Breakfast was filling and served by two attentive and amiable staff members. An antique hall is a new addition to the village, which was fun to tour as well as a new Italian restaurant to try, both within walking distance as most of the shops are. And the nearby vineyards/wineries (driving distance) are always fun. Thank you, Patrick and Bucky (African Gray Parrot), for your casual, and yet refined, hospitality!

The Main Street Inn was a wonderful place to stay. You can see how lovely it is in the photographs here and at the website, but the photos don't tell you how awesome the hosts are, and how they have created a magical experience for their guests. Patrick and Susan make a visit to Ste. Genevieve truly special. From the introduction and tour, to the hour of wine and conversation, to the delicious and hearty breakfast, Patrick and Susan make magic at the Main Street Inn. I recommend a visit soon. We will be back.

We booked in for 2 nights mid week and this BNB did not disappoint. The rooms are in incredible shape. The owners are gracious with their time. We would definitely book it again. This Inn has a great history and importance in the early American culture of the area.

Great a**osphere, surroundings, accommodations, and overall experience. Patrick is a most gracious host. Our second time there. A great spot to stay after an afternoon of winery visits. We were there during the French festival, which was an added enjoyable experience.
