Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sainte Genevieve

Nothing really to companion about service was fine and nice location

I was concerned after reading a few reviews here, but was too late to cancel. Yes the room carpet is stained but the room was clean, compact. The bathroom was pristine. Hot beverage coffee/tea plus toaster for bagels, waffles, or bread slices plus cream cheese, peanut butter, jam & yogurt...makes o.k. breakfast. Wouldn't have minded some hardboiled eggs with their cold cereal choices. So for my stay, the negative was the dirty room carpet. No fitness room but easy, safe neighborhood to stroll around, which I did, as a solo woman traveling. Availability at front desk was no problem, and the staff was pleasant, welcoming. Signs at front re: calling if noone's around, which I did & someone promptly appeared. Would stay again as a solo, but not as a pair or more. Room is too small, but, there you have it.

This particular room was actually pretty comfortable and clean, with one glaring exception; the carpet was badly stained throughout. I have to believe the hotel has a plan to replace the carpet in the rooms sooner than later, as carpeting throughout the hotel hallways, etc, were in much better condition. The a/c unit even worked well; it was quiet with a working thermostat and reasonably clean filters. That carpet though......Breakfast was, well.....seemed to be an after thought to hotel staff. Prepackaged waffles in a toaster don't qualify as "hot" breakfast item. Choices were slim, and a disappointing end to an otherwise decent stay. Wynham, you can do better.

At 11 pm I was sitting on my bed and my adult daughter was on the other one. We saw tiny brown bugs crawling on the covers! It totally grossed us out. I didn’t see anyone at the front so we left to find another place to sleep. I called the number for the front desk and told the person who answered. The next morning called the manager who refused a refund because I didn’t bring them a bug. I was told the policy is to not give a refund unless I can produce the bugs. They claimed they couldn’t find them, insinuated I was making it up. In hindsight I wish we had taken a photo, but we were so tired and disgusted we just left. I will NEVER stay at another Microtel property again!

stop over for two week vacation . sleep over on my way too my next leg of my vacation. hopefully my next stop will have a better breakfast

Beds were broken; Toilet seat was broken; Breakfast below par; VERY unfriendly staff - no one smiles, no one asked how our stay was and no one thanked us for staying when we were checking out.

Staff at this hotel are excellent and the location is a short drive from all the attractions Sainte Genevieve has to offer. If you are in this area and looking for a place to stay, this is the place to go.

The person at check-in on Friday, 18th was extremely nice and efficient. The rooms were very clean. Right off the interstate, nice area. The breakfast offered was prepackaged food, (muffins, cereal, etc.), but it was clean. I was very satisfied with our stay.

No one was at front desk for check in or check out. Be prepared to wait. Breakfast adds no value to your stay as there were few options so make sure you take that in to account if you generally like to save on this cost. The rooms were clean and comfortable so if that is all you need it wasn't a terrible value.
