On peut voir les restes des fortifications allemandes, des monuments à la mémoire des soldats venus combattre tout au long de sentier dominants la plage. C'est un endroit incontournable lors de la visite des plages du débarquement.

Most Normandy visitors immediately head to the more famed Omaha Beach memorial, but Utah Beach arguably offers a more authentic and moving experience in its starkness and sense of sacrifice. A one-time German bunker (now a must-see museum) still looms over the broad expanse of beach where normal life -- families digging for clams, buggies racing on the shore -- both obscures and reinforces the site's bloody history and its lasting legacy.

Ik ben op alle D-Day stranden geweest, en dan moet je de Amerikanen toch meegeven dat zij het meeste gevoel voor decorum hebben. Ik vind Utah Beach het meest interessante van de 5, en dat heeft alles te maken met het museum, de monumenten en het strand zelf. Als je op het strand staat met je gezicht naar het land en je probeert de zwart/wit film af te draaien die iedereen kent, dan lopen je de rillingen over de rug. Voor alle geschiedenis en WWII liefhebbers een must deze plek !

Our tour guide rushed us through Utah Beach and I wish we had more time to explore the monuments, walk the beach, and visit the gift shop. We were there during the anniversary and reenactors made the visit more imaginable. Be sure to give yourself enough time to take it in.

Indrukwekkend - voldoende parkeerplaatsen. Mooie memorials, met name de boot en de soldaten die eruit lopen. Een mooier eerbetoon is er niet. Ook het beeld met de 3 figuranten is de moeite waard. Prachtig strand en je kunt een goed idee vormen hoe het hier tekeer is gegaan in juni 2021. Zwaar onder de indruk

Nous n'avons pas visité le musée car nous en avions déjà suffisamment d'autres déjà prévus. Nous voulions surtout nous rendre compte des lieux. Et c'est impressionnant ! Vous pourrez également monter dans un landing craft. Le plus : parking gratuit et facile.
