Gem in Nozawa. One of the best ryokan in Nozawa. Professional top quality staff. Breakfast and dinner (optional) are served on the second and third floor. English speaking staff available. A showcase of Japanese hospitality.  We had the kaiseki dinner and shabu shabu dinner at the ryokan which was excellent.  Within the ryokan, there are single sex indoor and outdoor onsen (with sauna facility) and also a private onsen for reservation. The ryokan is in the middle of Nozawa village, with a short main street of shops and many free public onsens. There are a few hot steam buns stores and also multiple craft beer joints.  From the ryokan, walk 3-5 minutes up a steep hill to reach the moving walkway up the ski hill. Very convenient.  From Nozowa village bus station, there is a free shuttle bus which can bring you to five different ski resorts around town.  Ryokan Sakaya is highly recommended and early reservations are necessary

The level of the staff is broken and there is no sense of unity as a hotel. One of the young female staff at the restaurant was very rude. For the celebration of mother's rice life, ＧＯＴＯ was used, and my brother and sister gathered from various places. I really wanted to book a large room with an inner bath, but I booked an Asian taste room ２ room without vacancy. The result was not a great answer, a bed, but a type to stay in a twin on the floor. The hot spring was more compact than I imagined, but I didn't feel any inconvenience at all. The best thing was the buffet style of dinner, and the richness of the dishes was very much. The most delicious thing was the rice of Koshihikari from uonuma.

Stunning place to stay. Amazing views from very spacious rooms. Excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. Teens had the best time exploring and making snow men. Enjoyed skiing at a close resort as Naspa skiing was over for the season. Easy access to town bus leaves every half hr.

If you're staying overnight, we recommend a room at Tanadakan. The modest course meal was perfect for the elderly. And, from the open-air bath early in the morning, you can really see the sea of ​​clouds and it's enchanting! This is a view you can only see if you stay overnight. Although it didn't have the luxury of a luxury inn, the service was just right and the staff were kind and pleasant. The transportation from the station was flexible and I was very satisfied with the reasonable price. It can also be used as a day trip hot spring, so you can stay even after checking out without any additional charges.
