Baymont by Wyndham Salem Roanoke Area

Breakfast, - cold scramble eggs,have to microwave them , stale week old bread , NO elevator in this hotel..air conditioner in room blows warm air while needing cool air...

The room was okay, except that it was very humid and the courtyard door would not open, nor would it close all the way. There have to be better places to stay in this area.

Once you check in if you have a problem like a non smoking room smelling like smoke the front desk doesn't care. Front desk staff doesn't even greet you when you arrive and seemed annoyed I was even checking in.

The Baymount is a very nice inn. Its clean, quiet safe, with friendly staff. The breakfast is nice and I liked the sausage gravy and biscuit

My recent encounter with Baymont in Salem Virginia left me utterly dismayed and disheartened. Despite making a reservation well in advance and arriving at the hotel with excitement and anticipation, I was denied accommodation without any reasonable explanation except that "we do not rent to locals". That is a lie, I know this hotel venue holds events for lifestyle enthusiasts. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by a receptionist whose demeanor was as unwelcoming as the news they delivered. Despite presenting my reservation confirmation, I was informed that they would not rent a room to me. I tried to reason with the staff, but to no avail. They were dismissive and unapologetic, showing a complete lack of empathy towards my situation. I paid for and booked via Travelocity and lost my money because of this ridiculous rule. What if I moved out of town but still had my "local ID. What if I was a domestic abuse survivor, would you not allow me to rent a room from you? In my past I was and would need to rent a room for my own safety. I rented a room for my adult son who needed a place to rest as he started new medications. His ID has my residence address on it. What baffles me the most is the lack of transparency and professionalism exhibited by Baymont. If there were any issues with my reservation, I should have been notified in advance so that I could make alternative arrangements. Instead, I was left stranded, scrambling to find another place to stay and had to make a payment to another hotel. Furthermore, the staff's attitude was rude, as if my inconvenience was of no concern to them. It's evident that customer satisfaction is not a priority for Baymont, and they have no qualms about inconveniencing their guests. I urge fellow travelers to think twice before considering Baymont for their accommodation needs, as the disappoin**ent and frustration you'll experience are simply not worth it.

The lady at the front desk was very nice. The lobby looks nice but smells like old cigarette smoke. The smell goes down the hall as well. Our room did not appear to be clean - there was candy on the floor, the bed cover appeared dirty, there were chunks of used soap stuck to the shower curtain, and the wooden furniture all appears to be beaten up and not wiped off. So it’s ok just for a nights sleep, but it’s not somewhere I would look forward to coming back to. I will keep my shoes on to walk on the carpet.

It was alright for a one night stay but cleanliness is lacking, hair in bathroom and TV needs a guide.

Not ideal for travelers.

Price was fine. Bed was good. Quiet location. Building run down. Given wrong room number at checkin by a staff who seemed overworked or overwhelmed. Ample parking. As we entered, security door was not locked. Breakfast limited. Staff were generally friendly. Will try another motel next time.
