"We had a fantastic time at Hawthorn suites by Wyndham Dwarka. The location is unbeatable, just a short walk from major attractions and public transport. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a great variety of options, and the rooms were very comfortable. Great value for the money. Thank you to the whole team! Specially Ms Aakansha Associate she is very care in my room and cleaning."

We spent 3 nights at the Hawthorne in July 2026 for an extended family gathering. This is by far my favorite historic hotel! It is clean and recently refurbished. Beds were comfortable. Our room was clean and fully stocked with linens, towels, and toiletries. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough each morning. Paula on night shift had coffee ready before I came down to get it each morning, which was between 5 -5:30 each day. The front desk staff also provide bottled water, chilled or room temperature. Thanks to the fantastic front desk crew for granting our wishes! Catering is great! The family event went off without a hitch! The food was fantastic! The Tavern is a great place to dine or have drinks! We specifically asked for a quiet room and a refrigerator and got what we wanted — slept very soundly! We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return in a few years. The hotel owners are onsite and very welcoming. It’s obvious that they treat employees like family. Just can’t say enough about how awesome this place is!

I was a little worried staying at the Hawthorne Hotel because it’s an older, historic hotel and wasn’t sure if it would feel outdated. It was the complete opposite. It gives classic old money charm while being beyond clean and well taken care of. The staff was amazing. Abigayle helped us at check-in and shared her favorite local spots away from the tourist traps. The room was so comfortable and the pillows were incredible. I’m currently trying to figure out where to buy them for my own house. The location is perfect. You’re right in the heart of Salem and can walk everywhere. They also have a parking lot in the back. I felt completely safe the entire stay. I was nervous since it’s known for being *******, but never had any uneasy feelings. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Our three night stay at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA was wonderful!! Our King Room was extremely large and their beds, pillows, ect were soooo comfy!! Everybody at the wedding was talking about how comfy they were! The Staff went out of their way to be accommodating and all were very kind and friendly!! My husband and I will definitely stay here again (Even though we only live one town over 😉)!! We both highly recommend staying at the beautiful Hawthorne Hotel!!!! 🥰♥️ JHDLW

From the moment we checked in Olivia (Liv) became a part of my daughter's and my vacation. She did everything possible to make our stay fun. We were in room 409 which is a double queen, has chest of drawers, desk and nightstand. The matteresses and pillows were supper comfy. I usually have a very hard time sleeping away from home and was amazed by how well I slept all four nights of our stay. Loved going down to the lobby first thing in the morning to enjoy my complimentary coffee. One evening my daughter #niffypoppins wanted to work in the lobby on a watercolor painting she is doing. Both Olivia and Clare (the manager) gave their approval. There was an event going on and so many people stopped by to watch her paint. (She's usually out painting in coffee shops) And while I'm mentioning Clare...Salem was doing some work on the city water lines, and Clare came around to the rooms personally to update everyone with the details. We took advantage of having two places to eat in the hotel and I'll review them later-Spoiler-enjoyed both. This was my third time staying at The Hawthorne. First time was in the economy room, which is small but served the purpose. The second time was in the double queen with one and a half baths which was perfectly lovely. This third time was in the double queen with one bathroom, ( the shower was in one room and the toilet and sink were in a room right next to it-which was not a problem and could actually be very convenient if someone is taking a shower and someone else wants privacy on the potty!) THIS is our favorite room and will be what we'll be booking next time we come back. Honestly, I can't imagine coming to Salem and not staying at The Hawthorne. The people were all friendly, the rooms clean and fresh...It really is my perfect place to stay in Salem.

Frequent the hotel, have stayed overnight by history even though we're within walking distance. The Tavern and Dining Room both have charm and appeal, food is delicious, consistent. The Fruit & Cheese Platter is yummy, serves 4-6 + for a tasty appetizer and they'll include Gluten Free Toast Triangles if anyone in your party identifies need.

This hotel is well located just off Salem’s pedestrian street. There were numerous eateries and attractions within walking distance. Like any historical building, the room didn’t have the latest of everything, but it was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well maintained. The lobby was spacious and inviting. The restaurant had great food. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The Hawthorne is feeling a bit rundown. It seems to be lacking in regular maintenance and updating. We stayed in a king room (room 238) which we thought would be an upgrade from last year’s queen room. The mattress was awful! You could see two depressions with a mound down the center of the mattress even with the duvet on. The bathroom was cold if the door was closed. I don’t believe there was a heat vent in there. There was mold on the ceiling of the shower and a rusty old curtain rod above a large window inside the shower. There was also a large hole and missing tile by the toilet. The counter space is minimal! We attempted to eat breakfast at Nathaniel’s but that was a nightmare. We sat and looked at the menu. A few moments later a waitress came to take our drink order (2 sodas) and we placed our food order at the same time. We sat for more than half an hour and never even received our sodas, never mind food. We told the supervisor we would be leaving and headed to Red’s for an incredible breakfast with even better service. We loved last year’s stay at The Hawthorne and were very much looking forward to our return stay. Unfortunately it didn’t come close to delivering on its “best place to stay in Salem” slogan promise. (I did reach out to management while there and also via email Tyler (manager on-site did what he could with the room which came down to a deep clean. Our billing was wrong as well.)

The lobby was very inviting from its complimentary lemonade to comfy couches. The front desk was helpful in giving us directions to the different museums we planned to visit. Our room was spacious enough for three adults to share two queen beds. The bathroom was tiny but surprisingly comfortable as there were places to set a brush, makeup, etc. The shower had good water pressure and hot water. The beds were clean and comfortable. They have a noise policy about was easy to get a good nights sleep. I’d recommend this hotel to those visiting Salem.
