Original Sokos Hotel Rikala Salo

Renovated hotel from the 80s. The surfaces are mostly tidy and clean, but some details show age. Small room, no armchair. Good mattress and pillow. Impractical table, unsuitable for work. Good breakfast and friendly service. Free parking.

I had difficulties deciding between 3 and 4 points... Nothing was bad, so I decided to be positive, although I'd expect a bit better for that price. I stayed in hotel Rikala on a hot summer day, and the air-conditioning of the building was not strong enough to keep rooms cool. I'm fine with warm temperature, but I can imagine it was uncomfortable for many people. The room was renovated and comfortable but there were some noise early in the morning, I guess because of the systems of the old building. The bathroom was modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was nice and there was a lot of choice. The location of the hotel is good - central enough but no much traffic noise.

Hotel itself is pretty ordinary, but the service was excellent. Very friendly staff throughout the visit, always making sure we were all good. Some small requests we had were taken care of fast. Kids were treated extra nice. Room was tidy and beds were comfortable. Delicious breakfast buffet with a lot of things to choose from. If you need a place to stay in Salo, I can warmly recommend!
