Not 4 stars My boyfriend booked this for my 30th birthday. we were called on the Thursday to advise we couldn’t have our spa treatments as no one would be in to do them. Understandably we were upset as it’s a special occasion, but we also understand that things can happen out of the hotels control. We were put on a cancellation list… but who’s going to cancel a spa treatment. So we were disappointed before we even arrived. The parking is weird, I think the main car park is the first one as you come into the estate we think, not 100% sure as it’s not sign posted as the “main car park”, we drove up to the reception and then realised we had to turn back around and park there. You have to walk quite a way with all your luggage to the reception. However if you go past the reception there is a car park closer, but it’s labelled up with a different name. I’m not entirely sure if it’s for a different resort. But we ended up parking here when we came back later in the day. The staff on reception were polite and helpful, no issues here and finding our room was easy. So the room…. We booked a room with a balcony, there is no privacy on the balcony and if you don’t close your curtains your neighbours will see you from less than a meter away from their balcony. The table wasn’t clean and it had bird poo on. However we understand that the hotel cannot control the birds business 😂 the view of the golf course from the balcony is good. The bed was comfy, however two singles pushed together. The main light in the bedroom flickered all night and kept us up. However we worked out it stopped if we put the bathroom light on and opened the door a little, couldn’t have the bathroom door shut or anything. Was a little weird. However, if no one has told the hotel this they wouldn’t know the light needs looking at. So could be the case this is the first time they’re being told. The bathroom was the worst, there was a dodgy mastic repair on the bath panel, gaps all around the bath of about 1cm which meant when showering loads of water is going down the gap and probably causing a mould issue under the bath. There was a dirty shower head. No shampoo…. But conditioner?! We had two hand and body washes instead, one in the shower and one by the sink so not sure if this is just a mistake or they only supply conditioner. It just seemed a bit weird to us. We have stayed in other 4 star hotels which have extras like shampoo, mouth wash etc. When the bath drains it takes ages and gurgles up the sink which probably means that there’s a drainage issue. Now onto the facilities, the spa was lovely. Changing rooms at modern and everything was working. There were kids playing in the pool so this isn’t over 16 spa or anything, so it’s not a relaxing spa environment and is quite busy. Not that we minded as the kids didn’t bother us. Jacuzzi nice and big and sauna and steam room were nice. The restaurants, we only went to the no 18 brasserie which looks like an old run down cafe, with a l
