The hotel itself was nice. We were happy with our room, the balcony with a view and enjoyed chilling out in the swimming pool area... Only problem was the breakfast which we had booked and paid for the whole of our stay after reading good reviews. But was shocked to find it the worst breakfast we have ever experienced. The cooked items looked terrible so we stayed away from that, the worst scrambled ive ever seen! Limited fruit on offer. Warm orange juice and something that was trying to resemble apple juice out of a machine. Everything else was stale and just seemed like it was wheeled out every day until it all goes. The final straw was biting into a boiled egg which was grey in the centre. Basically nothing is good quality or fresh. Save your money and by fresh produce from the local shops and eat on your balcony, which is what we did for the remaining 6 mornings of our stay. The real shame is the hotels refusal to reimburse us any of the money which we had paid upfront for our breakfast. They did offer us one of their balinese beds for the rest of our stay , but we wasn't interested as they are not next to pool.Other than that they did nothing to rectify the situation and kept our money. We feel ripped off and put a massive downer on our whole stay to be honest.Poor customer service overall, disinterested...

I really enjoyed the hotel.. Had a relaxing and peaceful week in February 24. The room was ok, the balcony were big enough, with a wiew to the pool. Sunbeds were occupied early in the morning, but I always succeed to get one. I liked the carpet ? around the pool instead of tiles, who often get slippery or too hot. The bed was ok, the pillovs too thin. The staff were helpful and the cleaning was very good. The aircondition was quite noisy. I enjoyed the vacation at New Folias.Looking forward to be back in 2025, late january!

The location in San Agustin close to the beach and the beach promenade is quite good. There is a nice pool area with sunbeds. The breakfast is actually very good, so we enjoyed it. You can check in online before arrival - and so we did - but you must present at the receptionist at arrival. The receptionist might improve if attending a course on how to welcome new guests... The beds were OK, but the rooms, the bathrooms and the entire hotel is somewhat tired and needs a total make over soon. On our floor the bin for glass bootles outside the elevator was more than full - and so it was for all 3 days - no-one giving it any attention. The elevators are very small and look very old.

The staff was very helpful and nice. Clean rooms and nice sunbeds and pool. Very close to the city with nice fancy restaurants and shops. Very close to the beach and bars. Very easy to get taxi if u want to travel to other places. Me and my partner was very happy and comfortable the whole week!

Our 40th anniversary! We got a complimentary bottle of fizz!! It is a very nice hotel, albeit it could do with a refurb. Some of the paintwork in the room was very shabby but the room itself, with a balcony, was very comfortable. The little kitchen allowed us to prepare lunch every day and we even cooked two simple evening meals. The staff, to a person, were friendly asnd helpful. The pool is really nice and although a little chilly at first (it was February) was lovely and we used it several times a day, every day. Breakfast is good with a lot of choice. The sausages, scrambled egg, mixed veg and bacon weren't to my taste but given the choice it was fine. Lunch was good and the service led by Carlos was excellent. The lack of a bar in the evening meant that every evening meant a trip to the shopping centre (10 minutes), but with a huge amount of restaurants and bars there we ate and drank well. The grill which is part of the hotel was fine but we found it a bit impersonal. San Augustin is very much a Scandinavian resort and there were few Brits there, but just about everyone spoke English. On our last night I sat next to a Swedish family in an Italian restaurant in Spain. They ordered in English from a Croatian waiter! It is a short walk to the beach, but with limited mobility we didn't actually venture on to it. It is all very nice-looking though. The weather was superb every day - it's a great place for winter sun. The hotel has a "do not reserve sunbeds" policy but that was not enforced on a regular basis. Thus, by 9am most of the sunbeds were reserved and, sadly, we did it ourselves a couple of times. However, we learnt our lesson when our towels were taken to reception. Having said this, somehow Juan the lifeguard always found us beds and we had two every day.

Hotel and San Agustin itself are very peaceful and quiet. Almost too quiet. We had a morning walk by the seaside promenade. Almost every day we walked to Playa del Ingles for better restaurants and evening life. Poolside is excellent with normal towel reserved sunbeds. It is annoying but after 20 times in Canary Island we are getting used to. Extra thanks to carpet all over pool area. Not slippery and no burning hot tiles. Rooms are little bit dated and some renewal is needed. Poolbar is another story. Carlos is making excellent cocktails. For example Carlos' sangria does not contain any red wine! Secret recipe with different alcohol is unforgettable and I recommend it. We might visit hotel next year.

In some need of an uplift in some rooms. We were 2nd floor & had a palm tree right outside. Only gripe really was reviews said plenty of sunbeds to go round. NOT true, towels at dawn (7.30am) even tho rules said no reserving sunbeds. However we got round this by paying €10 for a lovely massive Bali bed for day. Juan Luis (the pool police) is an exceptional person, a lovely guy who does everything to help as is the very wonderful Omar on reception. Very helpful & accommodating, the staff make this hotel, I hope they are rewarded well.

The whole holiday was ruined by one woman from management I was really schoked at the last days in the hotel. The disagreeable women from menedgment with long dark hair unswerving that everything is not her problem. That it is not possible to make lunch box from breakfasts. But when we make checkout reseption say that we must to pay 9 euro for breakfast  that we take it.Breakfast and dinner was included in our room.If I know that before, that I can pay for lunch box and take it with me to morning excursions I will make it.But this lady with long dark hair (in the cabinet after reception)that it is not posible. She was really disagreeable and say always that it is not her problem. So?Hotel is it posible to make lunch box or no?Is it possible for extra money? For 9 euro for person or 9 euro for 2 or 3 person? We do not eat to much(I am on diet and my daughter do not eat morning time(I usk for 1 kruasan and couple fruit with me.I do not eating nothing on breakfast on this day.And we are late for excursions so I wand to take 1 kruasan and couple fruit with me oly for my daughter, for money or no.But NO. Our beautiful vacations in Gran Canarias was spoiled, thanks to this lady with long dark hair(I saw her only 29 of December in the cabinet nearly reception ,but she make our vacations and holidays in this hotel very terribly)Some things I do not write here,I will write to the touristick Canarian police.I hope the owner and director of this hotel understand about who I am writing about, and make a schtraf for this vorker-women with long dark hair which work nearly reception in cabinet.I thinking she is some meneger of the hotel, but she is disagreeable and think that she is God of hotel and I come to her house und asking for something unbelievably. The other stuff was very friendly (kitchen, reception, waiters, and very lovely staff in Papis grill restoran)
