We booked a suite for 4 adults from March 21-24, 2024, as we had plans to do something different each day while in San Antonio. When we arrived, we noticed that there were no security cameras on the property and there was what appeared to be a homeless person walking through the parking lot. We asked the front desk about security, and we were told that they have security that roams the property at night which made us feel better. Our 3rd floor room faced the roof of the pool house in the courtyard which ****** big time. The room itself was cute and as described on their website. The pull-out sofa was very uncomfortable and only came with a mattress cover, top sheet, fleece blanket and one pillow, our bathroom only had 2 bath towels, but we had no issues getting extra towels, pillows and a bottom sheet. The website says there is a manager's special but there was no manager's special, we were advised that it is only on Wednesdays. Two of our group smoke so we spent time out in the parking lot with them. Night one there was a person with a flashlight walking the length of the parking lot at the closed business beside our hotel, they were not security, but they kept walking, so we didn't think anything of it. On the morning of the 23rd two people from our room went out around 6:30am just as 4 police cars were pulling into the lot. We found out that around 4:30am a guest heard noises from the parking lot and saw 3 people running in and around cars so they hit the horn on their car remote and the 3 people/kids ran to the next lot (were the person the previous night with the flashlight was) and they jumped into a silver SUV and took off. Our vehicle along with at least 7 other vehicles had windows smashed out and things rifled through and stolen. One vehicle had 2 windows smashed out and some of their belongings were thrown on the ground. We had no bags or anything in our vehicle, they went through the glove box, center consol, and even lifted the rear seats and stole the battery booster that was not visible. There was more glass in the lot but no vehicles, so we assume some of the people with damaged vehicles had already left. One police officer told us that this is a very bad end of town, as there are apartments and a lot of homeless people in the area. We talked to the front desk, and they said that there are signs everywhere saying that they are not responsible for anything stolen or damaged in the lot and that we are in "inner city, and these things happen" no empathy like it is an everyday occurrence. The break-ins were the talk of the lobby and none of us talking saw any of these "not responsible blah blah blah" signs. At some point the security guard showed up outside and we asked him where he was when all of this happened. The security guard told us that he is relieving the other guard, and they only patrol every hour. We went back to the front desk asking about the security and they told us that security checks the park
