My toilet didn't work in the room I reserved so I had to move to another room and the floors were all nasty stained and it didn't have the handicap walk in shower I reserved

I stayed here as part of a charity event I was participating in. To start, checkin was problematic. The late night desk clerk, while pleasant, tried to make me pay for a room that was prepaid. When I questioned the charge, he stumbled, then ran my card again behind the desk for the deposit. Never gave me a receipt. Then we got to the room. It was filthy. Potato sticks and visible dirt on the floor, bugs in both beds, and a roach on the wall- all reported to the front desk. Then the shower didn't work- first it didnt drain and then it ran out of water- reported to the front desk. Someone came to "fix it"- it still didnt drain properly until the last morning of our stay. The TV channels didn't work and just in general the stay was disappointing.
All was not a fail, however. The location was prime. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was courteous and kind. There is a need for training and general upkeep and maintenance. I would not stay here again.
