From quiet to comfort this little gem has the best placement for a good time in San Antonio. The historic beauty of the older King William neighborhood to the youthful imagination and energy of Alamo and Chavez corridor...I was able to enjoy a better San Antonio than the usual Riverwalk routine. Thanks Lily, your attention to creature comfort and great breakfasts made a busy trip, beautiful. I had a terrific time.

We had a wonderful 1 nite stay and will recommend to friends. The House is off the beaten path in historic neighborhood and 2 block access to the south end of river Walk at a park. Walk right 6 blocks to downtown Riverwalk look for boat rides, and restaurants......and walk left to Guenther House for breakfast or lunch....and Old Mission things further south. Had a lovely breakfast outside our Mockingbird room on upstairs Veranda. I asked my wife if she would like me to kiss her on the Veranda.....she said the Lips would be preferred :))

This charming Bed and Breakfast is in a beautiful, quiet, historic neighborhood. The architecture among the homes is very impressive and varies so from house to house. There is a lot to do in the immediate area within a short walking distance. This BnB is so very close to walking trails along the riverwalk, neat shops, art galleries and studios and very enjoyable locally owned restaurants and bars; each with a different neat vibe. It is also a short walking distance to a good grocery store (H.E.B). A bus stop is right nearby, which we used one day. The bus was easy to use and quick and helpful getting us to the Witte Museum and area, and then back. The BnB host and owner, Lily is a delightful person; was very attentive to making our stay relaxing and comfortable. And very accommodating to any requests. The hospitality and care were way beyond expectations. Lily’s advice on things to do was extremely helpful, as well. We enjoyed our spacious room with its beautiful wood moldings and floor; windows on two sides with nice views to the front porch and beyond, and side views down the street and the neighbor’s house. The graceful furniture went perfectly with this Victorian room and house. If you want brand new or a sterile hotel room, this place is not for you. If you want charm and character in a clean, well-kept historic home, you should be happy staying here. The bed and mattress seemed quite new, which was confirmed by our host (very comfortable, large bed with a beautiful wood headboard). We did hear a train horn on a regular basis, but it was just far enough away to become a minor background sound, kind of a nice sound, at times, too. I used my ‘white noise’ app on my phone at night, which certainly made for a restful sleep. We very much enjoyed the front porch; mostly gliding slowly on the 2-person hanging swing chair while reading, talking or sipping a beverage. We also had some of our breakfast meals at the table and chairs on the porch. So scenic and relaxing… Speaking of relaxing, wow, this place has a (well maintained) hot tub. You don’t usually see that at a bed and breakfast. It’s on the patio by the backyard and garden.

Our room was very clean and very comfortable. Having a 2nd room with a kitchenette was ideal for our long stay. We also enjoyed using the (very well maintained) hot tub which was a real treat. The biggest surprise was how absolutely walkable everything was from the Brackenridge House! We were literally minutes from the Riverwalk. It was also an easy walk to the Blue Star Arts Complex where we rented bikes. It’s a very quiet and safe area to walk around and explore, day or night. Our hostess Lily Lopez was positively wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very accommodating. She went above and beyond to assure that we had a comfortable stay. There were lots of gems within short walks of the Brackenridge House, great coffee shops, bars, restaurants, glass blowing, salsa dancing, live music and boutiques. Before we left for home we had already decided to return to the Brackenridge House, but next time we’ll stay longer!! Had we stayed in a hotel downtown we would have missed all the history and charm of the King William’s neighborhood experience and the surrounding “cool business buzz”.

This is a fantastic stay for visiting San Antonio. The room, actually mini apt., was comfy clean and roomy. Lily was terrific both for communications with us and being so accommodating. We felt like she really enjoys her clients. Nice neighborhood. Easy parking...and only 2 blocks to the riverwalk access. A short walk into the hub of San Antonio. Tons of fun. Definitely an A-plus stay. Thank you.

We stayed (2) nights at Brackenridge House. It was delightful! The staff is about as friendly and helpful as anybody you'll meet. The breakfast served was delicious both days and delivered right to the room. The room was amazing! Super clean and had everything you need to stay and be comfortable. It is also super quiet and peaceful at the house. The Alamo and Riverwalk are both walking distance away, as well as a shopping mall. The next time we need to stay the night in San Antonio, we'll for sure stay at Brackenridge.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Brackenridge House B&B. We love the charm this place exudes and couldn’t get enough of the upstairs deck, it was so relaxing! Lily was the perfect host, always available, and gave us a lot of great suggestions! Her breakfasts were delicious and pretty filling too. I highly recommend this place it’s a great location to downtown! Realtor Tim Terzich

My two friends and I truly enjoyed our one night stay at Brackenridge House, staying in three of the rooms there. The B&B was clean and beautiful and none of us could think of anything that we needed that we didn’t have. Breakfast was a nice mix of an egg dish, a melon dish and English muffins and orange juice. It was just a mile walk to the Alamo and RiverWalk, so we were able to park the car and meander around. Lily is a great hostess and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

What an incredible place! We were booked for three nights in the blue bird room when the day of traveling Lily called me to say that a previous guest had ruined the toilet and she would need to move us while she waited for a plumber. We were open to using the comparable cardinal room and let her know this. When we arrived she greeted us as we pulled in and said that she had moved us to the larger mockingbird room! She'd even provided some lovely sparkling cider for me and my pregnant wife to enjoy. Breakfasts in the morning were utterly delightful and the numerous streaming options on the TV made the evening after trekking around San Antonio all day feel like home(there were even snacks and popcorn to go with it). Being so close to Alamo st which has a number of restaurants and near an entrance to the riverwalk made this an even better location. It might be a while before we return to San Antonio but we will be sure to tell our friends to try and stay here. The hospitality was 10/10!
