We’ve stayed in Sonder units before, and found them to be generally very good. This one has lots of pros, but also some significant cons. PROS - great view from the balcony overlooking the Riverwalk, with easy access directly onto the Riverwalk from the building. - nice sized apartment, good bed and decent pillows and the unit was pretty soundproof so no traffic noise, and nicely air conditioned. - within easy walking distance to lots of restaurants, a good HEB supermarket, the Alamo, King William Historic District and lots on amenities. - free parking is a bonus, as although there is lots of parking in the area, it is far from free. CONS - the nonfunctional elevators! We should have been forewarned that the elevators don’t work most of the time, at least according to some of the permanent residents and apparently to some previous reviews. We didn’t have any elevator service for all of our stay, except for the one that went only as high as the fifth floor worked for the last couple of days. Takes a lot of effort going up and down stairs when parking is on the seventh floor, your apartment is on the fourth and the street level is four floors up and down. - not all of the exterior doors to the building lock as they should, so it really is not a secure building. - it took their representative three trips to get a functioning replacement coffee maker. Brought the coffee maker but it had no filter basket and that took two trips to bring. - bed is comfortable but the couch is a bunch of lumps on four legs - the unit was superficially clean, but it really needs a deep cleaning. The building is also getting pretty scruffy, hallways are a bit grungy and just generally need a makeover. So, great location, either walking or driving, but the lack of elevators is a deal breaker. I can’t recommend you stay here - there are other options.
