Hampton Inn & Suites San Clemente

So disappointed as a Hilton Honors member, how this has 4.5 star rating is beyond me. Would never stay here again, the hallways smelled, our TVs cable connections did not work due to a frequency issue with a nearby location, has to do with the cable company, their configuration on settings. A/c did nothing to cool the room off, no matter how much you lowered the temp. Receptionists were average at best. C'mon Hilton, this was a horrible experience including the $18.00 parking fee, your website says free parking here on Trip Advisor.

My husband and I love this hotel and staff! Gillian the Manager always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Epi, Ruby, Borah and Hinal are very accommodating at the front desk, Maria always makes sure our room is clean, and Louisa makes sure there’s plenty of food at breakfast! We look forward to coming back!

Weird entrance through parking garage and up a floor. Not the usual bright and clean like Hampton Inns usually are. What was horrible was my stay!! After the rehearsal dinner and an hour drive I was looking to get a good night’s sleep. As I was reading in bed. I looked down and ants were crawling across my pillow!! As I tried to kill them off, I noticed more all over night stand. I called the front desk and was told he would move my room. I quickly started packing the little I had out. I looked back at bed and a VERY large cockroach crawling across the pillow I had just left. That was beyond disgusting!!! I took a picture!!! The clerk came to take me to new room. By then it had crawled under covers!! I got to new room to try and sleep but it was either by ice machine or air conditioning and sounded like a jet taking off every few minutes. The next morning, I asked to speak to manager and was told she was not there. My friend had come to pick me up and go to get hair done. When we got back I said I was going to check out and stay at my friend’s hotel. She said she would refund the 45,000 points but not that night because “ I hadn’t checked out” before the time!!! I did get some points but asked Hilton to return others. To date, I got a courtesy 5,000! For this nasty experience, all should have been refunded!! Do not stay at this hotel!!!

Convenient, clean, affordable

My experience. Not fun going to take a shower with just water. They didn’t have soap. Shampoo. Or conditioner. When we got a hotel is because we want to relax. Not want to go ask for that very simple stuff

I'm honestly surprised this location still has their franchise agreement intact with Hilton/Hampton. Hasn't been updated in probably 20 years. Everything was meh, not awful but meh, and when it all adds up I'd never recommend this place. I'm sure the travel lodge next door is just as nice or perhaps The icing on top was we were without hot water for about 24hrs, when asked if any compensation would be provided I was offered 1,500 Hilton points = $7.50, it felt insulting more than apologetic, rather than complain we just went on our way and checked out the next day.
