The environment is great, but parking is not very convenient and you need to drag your luggage up the stairs.

First off, this is a beautiful hotel in the heart of old town. Do not stay here if you are traveling with anyone who can’t do stairs, or hills or is handicapped. The hotel is HUGE. And spread out. It was extremely difficult to find our room and parking was a disaster. Rooms are EXTREMELY SMALL.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious with a separate area that had a second tv and sofa bed couch with mini kitchen. The grounds were beautiful and it was right in the middle of old town. Would definitely stay there again!

Always saw this hotel on previous trips to San Diego but never stayed here before. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is in Old Town so you are surrounded with some of the best Mexican food in San Diego. Park the car ($17 night) and feast away. Onsite restaurant is The Tequila Factory. Good food and margaritas (the hotel gives you a voucher for a free drink worth about $9-10). Old Town Mexican Cafe (100 meters away) has the most amazing fish tacos on handmade tortillas (you can watch the tortilla production in the front window). The hotel is old (maybe a little dated in the room decor) but clean and well kept and it is a beautiful property with lots of courtyards and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and helpful. Old Town is easily accessible to both I5, I8 and hwy 163, close to the airport and around 10 miles to the beach (very easy to get there).

Perfect location proximity to Old Town and public transit center. Staff are friendly. Rooms are rustic but clean. Could they use an update? Sure. But our bed was comfortable. We had plenty of towels and toiletries. We had an issue with our first room. The front desk moved us to a new room on the 2nd floor of the same section. Where our room was located was a more quiet section. We really didn't hear any of our neighbors. If budget allows, we would certainly stay here again. We did not use/see the pool area. We did not eat at the on site restaurant.

Great location and friendly staff. Clean room, but it was very dark, old & dated. I know it’s located in Old Town, but this place literally remained“old”. Aesthetics can be updated with nice antique inspired furnishings, and new beds would feel updated. I don’t know how old the bed is but I sank in the middle of it. I wanted to leave but we were just there for less than 1 night. Our room was 107 which is next to the elevator. We heard everything. The door had a little gap and shutters didn’t cover the morning light. This would probably my 1st and last stay at this location unless the updated the rooms and changed the beds.

I was happily surprised how nice this place was. The price was fair for the room. The only improvements I would suggest are maybe have help with guest bringing their luggage to the rooms as there is a lot of stair which can be hard for older guests and that the restaurant opened the outside areas for breakfast and offer more on the menu at a more reasonable price. $30ish for every dish was a bit much when you can walk across the street and get twice as much with better quality at many different restaurants. But with this said, I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to friends.
