Chose the hotel for location, and for getting around the main touristy locations in San Francisco it can’t be faulted. Just off the very popular Union Square, short walk to the cable cars to get you to the bay itself, and Powell station is there for anywhere else you want to get to (on the mainline to the airport through BART and Muni for everything else) Our room was appropriately sized, had most of the facilities we would expect (although the tea making facilities never arrived). Fridge and safe in the room, couple of different case stands, all very good. The hotel decor in terms of style makes sense, although in several places it’s starting to get tired (in our room, the paintwork in the bathroom needs tidying, the taps need replacing or at least regilding). However it was very clean and the service team did a great job while we were there for 4 days. When we checked in both lifts were working, then for the following days only 1 was, on one occasion both were out of action. Usually not a problem, but accommodation starts on the 7th floor.. also unusual to not even have the facility for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay, and the price was pretty reasonable for central San Fran. And despite the issues, would happily stay there again
