Fisherman's Wharf is one of the safest places to walk around at night in San Francisco.
While looking for accommodation nearby, I made a reservation at the Rio Hotel, which also offers breakfast. The location was good, but the bed was too soft and uncomfortable, and the sound of a garbage truck (?) kept me awake early in the morning, probably because I was assigned a room in front of the road.
