It was my partner's birthday and he wanted to go to SF for his bday this year. This hotel was highly recommended by several friends, so I am assuming I had a one-off experience. When we arrived, the person working the front desk wouldn't look at or respond to my partner who was being friendly (e.g. intentionally not responding to my partner asking 'how has your day been?'). The rest of check in was so tense and awkward...so strange and unprofessional for someone to do that, especially at a front desk in hospitality. Would love to know what my partner did to warrant such iciness on his birthday, no less. The pool was warm (87 degrees we were told), which felt good, but it also felt funky (really slick floors, really itchy when I got out, like maybe the chlorine levels are off). Didn't see any pool towels available; probably could have asked the front desk but given how unfriendly he was,so opted to use the small bath towels from the room. It was extremely loud in the streets around the hotel (sirens, people screaming, revving cars - think Beau is Afraid) so bring some ear plugs. I didn't sleep at all. The parking on site was great, beds are comfy, rooms are cute but sp**** (e.g. no mini fridge). The front desk staff that checked us out were very warm and gracious. Wish they were there to check us in, might have set a different tone for our lil birthday getaway.
