Dioscuri Bay Palace

Well, what can I say after reading the reviews, almost all negative, I was about to cancel everything, but as soon as I arrived I had to change my mind. Working air conditioning, swimming pool in perfect condition, the only flaw high water min 1.60, max. 1.90. Excellent location for a visit to the temples of Agrigento. Something about cleaning, such as dry palm leaves, left around, near the parking lot, in short, with a little more attention it would have deserved the 5 stars. I won't comment on the restaurant because I didn't have lunch, only sweet and savory breakfast. Courteous and helpful reception staff.

The lobby was large and nice with a red carpet on the stairs, medium-large parking, there was also a swimming pool, although it was closed for the winter, and a massage area. There was a large dining area and a room for breakfast only from 7 to 10 which waking up early just for this on holiday is not very pleasant if you want to stay in the hotel. Breakfast could be of all types, savory and sweet, with abundant choices for dessert, but for savory there were only scrambled eggs, bacon and ingredients for toast. Unfortunately, despite all these beauties there are also some bad details such as: in my room on the second floor the walls and doors of the balcony were not maintained, the air conditioning turned on cold as soon as you opened the room and some terraces had a view on poorly maintained gardens located opposite the hotel. Also, it is difficult to put the air conditioning on warm and the blankets were too light. Finally, it's not a bad hotel and in any case in other rooms, for example on the first floor, the air conditioning was hot and there was no need for blankets.

Easter and Easter Monday we thought about moving to visit the Valley of the Temples. A family of 2 adults and 2 children arrived at this very nice hotel after visiting it on the internet 4 stars (they say) I found it very neglected, we arrived in the room a excessively hot, but I think well now I'll turn on the air and cool off but it was just a thought, we spent a hot night with my children sitting in bed, I tried to open the external door but the room was invaded by mosquitoes, my children devoured. In the morning I go to the reception I explain my problem... they justify themselves by saying they haven't switched the hot air to cold yet (nonsense because other reviews expose the same problem) I find a very kind employee who tries to find me a solution he makes me change my room, less exposed to the sun and provides me with mosquito tags and Zambironi. We haven't solved anything in the morning we go to check out and I explain the problem again because he was amazed at the room change. It is justified by the fact that: it is a hotel close to the sea. Look, it's not the first structure I've visited near the sea and I've never seen these problems. Moral of the story we left with our children devoured by mosquitoes on their faces and all over their bodies. Poor 1 star hotel and problems that have persisted for years.

It was a day to get to know the city and the Valley of the Temples. Good service. Large and comfortable room. Great breakfast. The only thing I found unnecessary and ridiculous was having to wear a cap to use the pool.

An average establishment. Impeccable and possible perfect cleanliness. Unresponsive staff!
