Live Aqua Urban Resort San Miguel de Allende

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience I feel obligated to warn others. This was our first visit to both the resort and San Miguel, and what should have been a relaxing time with family turned into a frightening experience because of what appears to have been a serious safety issue. On a clear, sunny morning (with no wind or rain whatsoever, pictures are from two days after incident) the cable supporting one of the resorts massive overhead light fixtures suddenly snapped without warning. The fixture, which contained heavy metal star-shaped lights, fell directly onto our table. By pure luck, we had gotten up just minutes earlier to get breakfast. Had we still been sitting there, someone could have been seriously injured or worse. The falling fixture broke our phones. While we're grateful that no one was physically hurt, it's unsettling to think how close this came to becoming a tragedy on our first morning. What made the situation even more concerning was the resorts response. The broken light fixture remained on the ground in the exact same location for the rest of our stay. Even more alarming, there were numerous identical fixtures (hanging at least 20 to 30 feet overhead) still in place, and we never saw any effort to inspect, remove, or secure them to prevent another incident. It gave us little confidence that guest safety was being treated as a priority. We attempted to resolve the matter directly with the resort before leaving this review. The only compensation they offered was a complimentary night on a future stay. I declined and explained that I would never return to a resort that fails to take customer safety seriously after such a dangerous incident. Accidents can happen, but how a business responds speaks volumes. In this case, the lack of urgency, the failure to address an obvious ongoing hazard, and the dismissive resolution left us extremely disappointed. We were incredibly fortunate to walk away unharmed, but future guests may not be as lucky. I hope the resort takes immediate steps to inspect every overhead fixture and make guest safety its highest priority before someone is seriously injured.

My stay at Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende was nothing short of exceptional — truly one of the most impeccable service experiences I’ve had. I had the opportunity to experience the Aqua Suite, and it is simply breathtaking — a spacious layout paired with a huge private terrace and jacuzzi, offering a perfect setting to unwind and enjoy San Miguel’s atmosphere. It’s one of those spaces that makes you want to slow down and stay longer. What truly stands out is the combination of service and gastronomy. The food quality is outstanding throughout the hotel: • Dinner at Zibu Restaurant is a must • And absolutely do not skip the Dominican Brunch — it’s a full experience, vibrant and indulgent, and one of the highlights of the stay. The property itself is stunning — elegant, modern, and thoughtfully designed, making it an ideal setting for weddings, birthday celebrations, or special occasions. It balances luxury with a welcoming atmosphere, which is not easy to achieve. Another great plus: • Kids Club available, making it family-friendly • Pet-friendly, which adds flexibility for travelers And for a more elevated evening, cocktails at Bekeb Bar are simply next level — creative, bold, and unforgettable. This is one of those hotels you don’t just visit once — you return to. Without hesitation, this is Book the Room approved.

The stay at Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende was defined by a consistently high level of quality across all key dimensions. The rooms stand out as a clear highlight. The overall design and comfort level align well with premium expectations. Culinary performance is equally strong. Breakfast delivers both variety and quality, setting a solid tone for the day. The Zibu restaurant offers a refined dining experience with well-executed dishes, while the new bar concept adds a modern and vibrant touch to the hotel’s F&B offering. Service remains a core strength. The team operates with a high degree of professionalism, attentiveness, and consistency, reinforcing a seamless guest experience throughout the stay. I want to specially thank: Lluvia Brandon Ignacio Alberto Amor Alejandra Ernesto It was specially nice to meet Amor and Alberto again during our 4th stay within in five years! The spa is another standout feature. The facilities are well-maintained, and the massage treatments are of exceptional quality, contributing significantly to the overall relaxation and wellness aspect of the visit. Overall assessment: A highly recommended property that combines strong design, excellent gastronomy, top-tier service, and outstanding wellness offerings at a consistently high standard.

Our favorite hotel, we had our wedding here and everything was perfect. Staff very professional, friendly and attentive. The urban acienda resort is so intricate in details it’s San Miguel meets Puglia masseria

Amazing time at the Live Aqua. The spa is ten out of ten. They really make the entire experience special from beginning to end (with fragrance, sound, and stellar spa facilities). The hotel is gorgeous, as is the lovely outdoor pool! I would describe the interior as modern Mexican, and they really nailed the design of both the rooms and the service. We were staying at an Airbnb that we did not like, and came here for the remainder of our trip. I am so glad we did! If you want an excellent overall experience, you can't beat this beautiful property.

Beautiful hotel with amazing rooms. The spa was so relaxing and the staff most attentive. The pool area is exquisite. Very relaxing place that you will not want to leave.

Super noisy room, instead of rested we left tired, we reported the noise after the first night, nothing was done. My last afternoon there the pool was full of screaming kids not giving adults without kids a chance to relax. The gentleman completing our hotel check out seemed inconvenience by my presence, never smiled, never asked how my stay was, just gave me my total and that was it.

Like the town it’s in, this hotel is simply MAGICAL. The decor is eclectic and gorgeous — no corner is unadorned. The spa will change your life—I had a massage with Amelia at Feel Urban and I’ve never had such a relaxing ViP level experience. I had the best cocktail of my life at Barkam. But the best part is the SERVICE. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and warm! Daniel the concierge gave us so many wonderful tips that made our trip outstanding and made us feel at home. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

One of the best resorts, excellent amenities and services. Spa was amazing and both restraints serve great food. If you’re there on a Sunday try there brunch!’
