We booked this hotel because it is a Marriott property on Cozumel. The hotel is far from the Ferry boat, about 500 Pesos one way. Took a taxi to it, the Westin is at the end of a street, surrounded by jungle. There is no shops around. A restaurant but closed. Secluded, not in the centre, we were not prepared. The hotel is Extremely Expensive for what it is!! The check in was just terrible. A young woman, very unprofessional, and a hotel manager named Carlos Perez who caused us to cut our stay short due to his abrupt and mean treatment of me, a woman. We have never encountered such a Hostile and Rude attitude towards me, a Lifetime Titanium member.. There was no hospitality or respect. That is not what Marriott is about, and world wide at any Marriott hotel. One should feel safe and respected checking into a Marriott and not threatened or intimidated by a Marriott hotel manager. The room was basic. Very minimal, nothing special, not an upgrade to Lifetime Titanium. This hotel does not value Marriott guests. They operate in a rogue way, not hospitable. The restaurant breakfast is a total chaos. The food quality is very low and limited. The worse the picture the hotel advertises on their website is a very false view. The beach, the water is about 20 feet across, surrounded by rocks. There are about 10 sun chairs in front of the hotel.
