La Beliza Resort

We booked two Condos with them on Nov 12th for the Christmas holiday. They let us know on the 15th that one of the condos (the 2 bedroom) was not avail. We asked them to cancel the reservation for both that same day. I have e-mailed and I have called the owner and have not yet received a credit. Total $5,858.74. This is ALOT of money to leave someone hanging on for 3 weeks. I went to Pay Pal-they said to work it out with the owner, or wait until 12/26. AMEX won't touch it unless PayPal looks into it first. BUYER BEWARE!!! The sad thing is that we stayed here 10 or so years ago and were really looking forward to this trip at this resort. Now it's turned into a nightmare.

Love it there, stayed there twice now for one week each time. The staff working there was great, especially Andre. It was quiet and relaxing at this location, about 1/2 hour or so golf cart ride north of town.

We stayed in unit 506, same place we did when we went to Ambergris Caye last year. The place was great. All clean, kitchen equipped with about everything you need for basic cooking. The grounds around La Beliza were well kept, pool clean and a nice dock to walk on. There are also 2 kayaks and SUP’s for guests. Cornhole set to play on site as well. The staff was great and Andre’ was fantastic again this year, making sure everything ok and arranging for anything we needed. We will be back again!

My family and friends rented 6 units for a week stay at La Beliza in San Pedro. The rooms are very spacious and nice. Great views. Our host Justin helped us by arranging a boat and captain for the week. The units were clean and the property was well maintained. You definitely need to have groceries delivered they do not have a restaurant on sight. We were able to get food delivered a couple times. This was very nice and important because you are 8 miles north of town. Having a boat and captain for the week was great. Having the boat helped us to remain as a group and travel to our locations very fast and with a personal tour guide. We had Samir as a captain. Our host Justin had everything ready for us when we arrived including transport from the airport. Justin had all the restaurants and included fun things for us to do as a group. We all felt very safe at the resort.

We spent a week at the La Beliza resort with two teenagers. The 2 BR condo itself is spacious and the balcony overlooking the water delivers on the photos. That said, we primarily booked the property due to all the positive reviews re: the restaurant and pool bar. There is no restaurant or pool bar and many of the photos in the TripAdvisor listing are outdated - hammocks, the life size chessboard, and the volleyball net are no longer there. They do have paddle boards and kayaks that you can take out to the reef although it was windy season so we didn’t get to take advantage of that. There is no water sports/tour desk on property either (although Andrei did connect us with a great dive shop - white sands - in advance of arrival). There are restaurants about a mile in either direction (Sapphire and Box Balaam) that are both good and they will deliver but you really need cash for delivery although Sapphire was nice enough to let us wait to pay until we got more cash on a night w a crazy rainstorm. There are also a couple of convenience stores about a quarter of a mile away for basics (one takes cards, one is cash only) - drinking water (property provides a gallon and then charged), coffee, beer, and some non perishables but would highly recommend getting groceries in town at the Super Buy before coming up north. Our cab driver arranged by hotel was nice enough to let us stop when we arrived. I would also recommend bringing plenty of cash to avoid ATM fees / the only ATM we could get to work was the Belizean bank in town which had a withdraw limit. The resort is remote - 8 miles from town. 4 of those miles are on a really bad road. 4 are fine. You absolutely need a golf cart - we booked through Maya and had two bum carts so would recommend a different hardware store. Andrei (the main person on site) was super responsive to all of questions and helped us out w some recommendations. Overall, the Belizean culture is super hospitable and the food is amazing.

Be aware there are different owners for this condo. Ours needed updating. Refrigerator was broken and we had mice/rats. Water doesn't run hot. We had to throw expensive away due to broken frig. There are not sand beaches to walk on. When you go to town it's a 45 minute bumpy cart ride. Security was good. 1900.00 for the week was way too much.
