Ramon's Village Resort

Great visit - the grounds were well kept and the staff was very attentive to every need. Tucked away from the street bustle on the beach. The dive shop is awesome! I usually don’t like being helped out but the dive crew was awesome at being everywhere and no where. We got off and on the boat quickly. They did their best to put together divers with the same skill level. Would have given 5 stars but the showers did not really get Hot.

Diving was great. Plenty of sharks and sea life. Definitely rent a golf cart and see the island. Ice cream shop across the street was very good. This is a laid back resort for relaxing. Dive masters were the very best. Restaurant food at Ramon was good but you’ll want to explore other options.

PERFECTION!!!! Ramon’s has everything you need to have a fantastic vacation. We stayed in a 1 bedroom, which also included a small porch where we could enjoy a glass of wine with the warm sea breeze. The Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. We ate at a variety of restaurants on the island, but found the restaurant at Ramon’s, Pineapples, to be the most reliably delicious. While Ramon’s caters to scuba divers, as a non-diver myself, I found it lovely sitting by the pool and/or the beach, where comfortable beach chairs were not hard to come by. We first visited 23 years ago and knew to expect change. No disappointment! First shout out goes to Hiro and Darwin who handle Ramon’s full day fishing/snorkeling trip. They are dedicated to getting you on the fish. We caught lots of snappers which became our lunch. On the way we snorkeled for Conch which was a great opportunity. On the Northern tip of the island is where we set up for lunch. There is a new restaurant there so if you have children who are not fond of fish or conch, the restaurant offers excellent cheeseburgers quesadillas and American food that all children would love. The captain, who did the cooking did an outstanding job in the food rival any food that we purchased at a restaurant he prepared a homemade ceviche, which was most excellent, and then cook the fish in a coconut butter sauce that turned out delicious. Sides were fantastic as well, so I would highly recommend these two guys if you’re looking to take any adventure from the dive shop. The property is set up like a tropical paradise with grass, huts, manicured beaches, and spacious accommodations. There are plenty of workers to make sure that the beaches were clean each and every day and they are free of all seaweed which was important because on our arrival, the storms had come in a little bit and they were taking it out as quick as it showed up to keep the beach, beautiful for all the guest. The service everywhere we went was excellent, but a few things to be aware they do not serve alcohol, alcoholic drinks, strictly beer and wine. Fanta soda is a big deal here so expect to see more of that than your traditional Pepsi type products. Other things to be aware of there are plenty of what they call sand fleas, which in the country we call them no seas and they do quite a bit so bring bug spray or something to treat those little pesky bites when you receive them. Ramon‘s now offers golf cart rentals as well, which is very easy process and my advice would be if you want to explore any parts of the island. It’s a great investment if you were going to book excursions each and every day from the resort, the card is not necessary as you will not use it and there are other ice cream, shops, wine, stores, and restaurants as well as grocery stores within an easy walking distance. So the only reason to rent a cart if you want to explore the regions of the island, such a secret beach, which I would recommend the property offers a meal plan for breakfast which might be worthwhile if you are a family that does eat breakfast each and every day I would not do it for lunch or dinner as you would be giving up opportunities to taste better food prepared nearby. This is a tropical oasis. Highly recommend.

The photos of the Jungle Deluxe King on *******, and their website, shows a different room with a vaulted straw and grass type ceiling…when I pointed this out to staff they just said that’s not what you booked and refused to move us. They also need to emphasize there are no TVs in the rooms…
