Since it opened in 1912 Hotel Maria Cristina a Luxury Collection Hotel has been intimately linked to the history and cultural life of San Sebastian. The Maria Christina is one of the most luxurious places I have stayed in Spain. Large rooms, river views, convenient to the beaches and the old town. The staff were knowledgable and friendly and always at hand to help. Excellent breakfast buffet and a small but charming bar.

Somos una familia de Donostia que ha ido hoy con mucha ilusión al restaurante Saigón del Hotel Maria Cristina a comer para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hija. Tengo dos hijas y las dos celíacas. Llamamos con antelación para reservar mesa y para avisar de que había dos celíacas. Nos han atendido muy amables y nos han dicho las opciones que había sin gluten. Todo lo que hemos pedido estaba riquísimo. El chasco ha llegado cuando nos han traído la carta de los deseadisimos postres. No había opción para mis hijas, ningún postre sin gluten. Se han llevado un gran disgusto y nos hemos quedado todos chafados. Me parece que un hotel como el Maria Cristina debería de cuidar la carta desde el principio hasta el final, postres incluidos, y en caso de que no tengan opción, deberían de informar a la hora de hacer la reserva. Espero que este comentario ayude a mejorar.

The hotel is simply exquisite in design and luxury. From the moment we arrived until we left three days later we were treated like very valued patrons and the staff is exceedingly well trained to accommodate all customers. We arrived late on a Friday night from Barcelona and fortunately the restaurant was able to feed us a delicious meal before we retired for the night. We were upgraded to a enormous suite and thoroughly enjoyed its spacious, comfortable surroundings. Breakfast is both beautiful and completely satisfying- more than enough selections and again the service is top notch. Situated on the border of both the old town and new, its location is superb - gorgeous views to the river, park and sea and a short walk to the harbor and Casco Viejo to enjoy pintxos. The management should be recognized for maintaining a great hospitality team.
