Ragged Point Inn and Resort

Very professional, pleasant desk and restaurant staff. Absolutely beautiful location and vistas. It appeared many non-guests were exploring the grounds and hiking trail down to the shoreline. Wi-Fi did work. Rooms could use updated carpeting and shower heads. Overall, a must-stay.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean rooms, a bit high on price, but there is nothing else anywhere close and it's amazing. The overall property is well cared for, but also a bit worn. Not bad, you can just tell they are suffering from the closure of 1, and lack of funds to do improvements, etc. I love this place and hope it gets more business soon!

A fun place to stay the night with a 5 star view but a 4 star hotel. Enjoyed the trip up from SLO arriving early afternoon. Rooms were ready early so we checked in and did the hike to the beach below. It was short but steep and slippery. With good hiking shoes and poles it was doable but challenging. Sunsets are great and views both directions are breathtaking! Rooms had very comfortable beds and were clean but getting a little rough around the edges in spots. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Inn and both were very good (but not great). Highly recommend the Halibut Fish and Chips if you like that sort of thing. Big crowds at lunch from day trippers but Highway 1 closure seems to have killed the overnight crowds. Dinner and Breakfast was just us and a handful of guests. Overall a really fun experience and I would recommend but don't expect a five star hotel or you will be disappointed.

Natural surrounding is excellent.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 50th Anniversary. We boarded Amtrak in Portland, OR, and traveled down the CA coast to San Luis Obispo. From there we rented a car and drove the coastline north to the Bay Area. One of the highlights was our time at Ragged Point Inn. The 2 nights we stayed were exactly what we needed ... food for the weary soul. It was cold, foggy, and romantic. The view, well it's the ocean! Does it get better than that? Our room had a cozy cabin feel, the bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was a pleasant surprise! Sitting next to the fireplace with a nice glass of wine was perfect. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room, the Cinnamon French toast was worth the drive! We spent the day in Cambria, not near enough time to take in so many unique shops, boutiques, antique stores, etc. We managed to do some wine tasting and then headed back to Ragged Point for dinner. I ordered crab cakes, which are made in-house, and amazing, and my husband had the Ribeye steak, and it was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was great and very attentive. To wrap up our stay, we enjoyed an evening Christmas tour of Hearst Castle. I think it was the last one of the season, I'm so glad that worked out, it was all perfect. Ragged Point, we will be back! I need more time in your gift shop!

I had a room with an ocean view that was spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!
