The stay at great wolf was mostly ok. The room wasn't immaculate, but we dont spend that much time there anyways, so whatever. The shallow pool for the youngest kids was closed on our second day, so that was a big bummer and not much to do with our 2 year old. Now for the kicker... NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy a voucher through Groupon without first calling the waterpark and checking, double checking, and triple checking that they have availability for your date. I verified that there was availability for 1/27 through the website, purchased 2 sets of vouchers from Groupon and once they took my money, then when i entered their voucher code on the great wolf website, there was NO availability for that day. I called because I figured there must be some mistake, but no. There was in fact zero availability for 1/27. I immediately contacted groupon and was told it was a final sale and no refunds are given. Which I get a final sale policy, however, there was zero availability for the day that I purchased the voucher specifically for (you have to choose your date when buying the voucher). I explained to multiple reps (via chat and via email because of course there is no phone number to talk to a real human) and provided screenshots showing time stamps, the marked off date, etc, yet they are still completely unwilling to help me. The manager at Great Wolf Lodge was nice about it and said they'd send an email to Groupon asking for the refund to be processed, yet still nothing. Hoping they will still follow through and I will update at that time. However, I cannot stress enough to CALL any location that youre trying to purchase a trip for through groupon to make absolute certain that you can get in on that day, because if you can't and there is literally no availability to use your voucher, GROUPON WILL STILL keep those dates posted on their website so that you buy them thinking you'll get to go on your trip, when in reality, you'll have to purchase your tickets another way for another date, and then you'll have to continue to fight Groupon for an undetermined amount of time afterwards. So all in all, pretty decent trip but definitely could have been better. I can certainly say I will never use Groupon again. Not worth trying to save a couple bucks now that I know they post "deals" that dont even exist and then try to keep your money.... Book your trip through Great Wolf directly and stay far away from Groupon.
