Overall it was a great family getaway. The rooms weren't super clean and could be updated. The pillows were uncomfortable.

We booked a reservation on 2.29.24 for May 9/1 Night. They had a sale for $29 per person. It was recommended to download the app so you could see your reservation and check out the other amenities. The app never recognized my reservation. Received the pre-check in email and completed the process the day before our reservation. Received a text from an unknown number with a link - did not click the link because it never said it was from Great Wolf Lodge. We arrived on May 9th and found a sign in the parking lot there was a fee to park there. Opened my confirmation email and never saw a heads up on this addition fee. Went to the Great Wolf Lodge website to see if there was anything on the website mentioning this fee. The fee was in effect May 1, 2024. $15 a night for the parking fee. They don’t state what the $15 fee is for other than a parking fee. If you make a reservation right now you will not see the fee in your reservation and you won’t know until you read the FAQ or arrive. When we entered the lobby we were greeted by Dakotah who helped with the automated screens. I mentioned to her that I refuse to pay this new fee. We booked in February and the fee did not exist. As of May 1st I had not received an email alerting us of this fee. She went to her manager and they agreed it wasn’t fair and would waive it for us. She gave us a yellow card to put on our dashboard. She promised this would not show up on our bill at checkout. All other hotels I have been at I check out using the tv. At this location you can send a text saying OUT and you are checked out. Something told me to go to the lobby and check out. Good thing I did. Not only did they add the $15 parking fee but they TAXED the fee! So in total the fee is $15. The website says $15 not $15 + applicable tax. I asked why I wasn’t notified of this new fee prior to arrival. Snotty Melanie stated “Corporate sent emails to everyone”. Uh, beg your pardon, Melanie! We did not receive any notice prior. In fact the confirmation email states we prepaid the full amount and the remaining balance is zero! The manager, Rachel, arrived and said “Corporate” sent out notification emails..blah blah blah. No, they did not. I asked what the $15 covers. She mentioned it’s a “security fee” and it ensures they cars parking their lot are guests if the hotel. This is not labeled as a “security fee” on the website. What happens when two vehicles show up for one room? She did not know. I asked if they check to see if each car is checked to ensure it is supposed to be there. What happens if there is an unregistered vehicle? She had no clue what happens. I also mentioned you cannot tax a “parking fee” in the state of Ohio. Rachel stated she was going to contact “Corporate” and circle back with me. We all know that will never happen nor has it happened as of yet. They couldn’t even tell me who the CEO is for me to contact them to discuss this. I can provide the links to the state of Ohio tax laws if needed. If you bo

Everything was great except they no longer have the adult only hot tub area. Now both hot tub areas are full of crying babies and it's impossible to relax for 10 or 15 minutes without getting splashed in the face repeatedly. Very disappointed in the change. On a kid filled weekend, a parent needs a spot to relax too.

Just wrapped up our April 2024 stay at Great Wolf Sandusky location. We went with our 3 kids- 1, 3, and 7. Everyone has a different standard of “clean” but the rooms here are filthy. Our room had left over food and used wash cloths from the previous guests. I understand this is a waterpark and it’s a wet environment, but this place just smells and is in serious need of renovation- the carpet in particular. As for cleaning services, it seems like all they do here is wash the sheets and replace towels. The waterpark was fun for what our kids’ ages are and was a good intro water parks, but some of the attractions were in disrepair or completely non functioning. Life guards are very tentative but I wouldn’t stay more than 1 full day here. Kalahari down the street has more slide options and things to do. Overall, the stay was ok- our kids had fun and did the build a bear on site, but we will not be returning.

Very average experience for the cost. Seems that you pay for the Great Wolf name more than the actual stay and experience. Accommodations were average and very worn. Sofa bed in my room had duct tape covering a large tear. Children were cold and I requested extra blankets for each of the beds and was told that they were out of blankets. How can a HOTEL be out of bedding or towels? I would imagine such items would be considered essential to a hotels operations? I will never pay to go back to Great Wolf again…had a much better experience at both the hotel and water park at Zenders in Frankenmuth, Michigan and at a better price. Extremely disappointing.

I did not personally stay at Great Wolf Lodge but am writing to express my disappoin**ent in your credit card verification process. While I understand the need to prevent fraud because I gifted the room to my daughter and grandchildren, there has to be a better way to accomplish the verification. I was charged for the stay, so calling me when she checked in to verify the last three on my credit card should have been sufficient. Honestly, if there was fraudulent activity, my bank would have corrected the issue. She was unable to check in, and I was unable to complete the verification. I have a PO Box in the Virgin Islands for my address, and for some reason, the system would not take the information. I spent over an hour and a half trying to talk to someone who could help me. I was directed to the front desk, and the agent eventually hung up on me. To say I was frustrated would be an understatement. The customer service I received was not good at all. My daughter ended up having to pay on her credit card (she does not have the financial means to do so), and I had to Venmo her the money (which she won't have immediately). I also have no proof of a refund to my own credit card. Again, this process makes no sense to me since I already paid, had her name on the reservation, and she had an ID. I did ask for some type of credit for her for the inconvenience this create and was told she got ice cream for having to wait. It's unfortunate because this was an Easter gift to her and her boys, and it ended up being a fairly negative experience.

The stay at great wolf was mostly ok. The room wasn't immaculate, but we dont spend that much time there anyways, so whatever. The shallow pool for the youngest kids was closed on our second day, so that was a big bummer and not much to do with our 2 year old. Now for the kicker... NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy a voucher through Groupon without first calling the waterpark and checking, double checking, and triple checking that they have availability for your date. I verified that there was availability for 1/27 through the website, purchased 2 sets of vouchers from Groupon and once they took my money, then when i entered their voucher code on the great wolf website, there was NO availability for that day. I called because I figured there must be some mistake, but no. There was in fact zero availability for 1/27. I immediately contacted groupon and was told it was a final sale and no refunds are given. Which I get a final sale policy, however, there was zero availability for the day that I purchased the voucher specifically for (you have to choose your date when buying the voucher). I explained to multiple reps (via chat and via email because of course there is no phone number to talk to a real human) and provided screenshots showing time stamps, the marked off date, etc, yet they are still completely unwilling to help me. The manager at Great Wolf Lodge was nice about it and said they'd send an email to Groupon asking for the refund to be processed, yet still nothing. Hoping they will still follow through and I will update at that time. However, I cannot stress enough to CALL any location that youre trying to purchase a trip for through groupon to make absolute certain that you can get in on that day, because if you can't and there is literally no availability to use your voucher, GROUPON WILL STILL keep those dates posted on their website so that you buy them thinking you'll get to go on your trip, when in reality, you'll have to purchase your tickets another way for another date, and then you'll have to continue to fight Groupon for an undetermined amount of time afterwards. So all in all, pretty decent trip but definitely could have been better. I can certainly say I will never use Groupon again. Not worth trying to save a couple bucks now that I know they post "deals" that dont even exist and then try to keep your money.... Book your trip through Great Wolf directly and stay far away from Groupon.

I liked that there is extra event options and I like the payment band and it’s our room key. We really are enjoying our stay
