Ok, so this hotel might be ok if it were not for the major construction work s being carried out. We were unaware of this prior to our arrival, we are family of 4 with 2 small boys Upon being taken to our room we could hear the sound of drilling, one glance from our balcony revealing workers and trucks right under our balcony with dust everywhere- the hotel reception seemed surprised that we were upset by this (we paid extra for a sea view), they said the work would take place up until 7pm at night! They offered us a different room (about 3 doors up) which was no better and had works happening on the path that our children would need to use to enter the room After much back and forth they agreed to move us rooms but this was on the following day so we couldn’t relax the first evening, being tired from our travels we were all in bed for 7pm, and were unable to properly unpack. Our new room is better in terms of we can no longer see the construction but it can still be heard, and can also be heard from the pool areas. We also have to cross a road to get to the main hotel areas which is being worked on during the day with our children- safety has not been a consideration for guests I have expressed to the hotel our disappointed but they seem to not care, nothing has been offered in way of an apology. I can’t see how it can be acceptable to not tell guests in advance about this so they can make an informed decision when spending such a lot of money on the ‘perfect’ get away. On a side note, they also seem to want to treat you like cattle, not guests, wanting us to wear a wrist band even though we are only bed and breakfast- in my 20 years of holidays I have never heard of such a thing, it is usually managed by room number and not very environmentally conscious.
