The hotel room facilities are aging, the service attitude is bad, the hotel room is small, the sound insulation is poor, and the price/performance ratio is very poor.

The room is small. The beautiful environment depends on the natural scenery and not the hotel environment. The front desk staff has an arrogant attitude towards Asians. The parking fee of US$40 per day is very unreasonable in a small town. There is no need for valet parking like a Motel in the parking lot in front of the room. Great stay and bed are huge. However the service of a particular staff was really unpleasant and the hotel system does not tally with my booking at all!
Trip.Com mentioned breakfast for 3 pax since I booked the stay for 3. Yet the staff insist it was 3 breakfast a day for 1 pax and did not mentioned that there was a $ capped for per pax breakfast. She insisted me to pay and did not want to speak to trip.Com herself. Also, insisted me to call trip.com on my own since I booked through a 3rd party. Help was not offered! I have to spent 30mins to seat at the lobby , ruin our itinery for the day and managed this hassle! Horrible experience overall at mar monte hotel.

The staff at Mar Monte exceeded my expectations. Everyone was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and quite big. The carpet was a bit dated and ragged, but the beautiful tile in the bathrooms and throughout the hotel made up for that. Thanks, Mar Monte for a great visit.

This was my 70th birthday treat which was arrange by my daughter and her friends. Pretty exceptional. Our rooms were over looking the ocean. So much room! Everything pristine. Most importantly there was a coffee maker waiting for me first thing in the am, but also had choice to get some in the lobby. The lobby was very inviting, partly indoors and partly atrium with fireplaces. Our check in with Danielle and Lauren was swift and welcoming. We spent a lot of time at Lido, a very cute bar area right next to the pool. Kiran and Derrick made sure our casual gathering was filled with snacks and drinks. I enjoyed talking with them. The whole staff kept wishing me Happy Birthday. My stay at Mar Monte will be a great memory.

We treated my Mom to a ladies’ weekend for her 70th birthday and Mar Monte could not have been more perfect. You can’t beat the ocean view and relaxing open air mood in the lobby and pool/bar, we were instantly transported! Danielle at the desk was incredibly helpful and Derrick at cafe Lido treated us to amazing ceviche. The rooms had everything we needed, it was such a treat to enjoy breeze from the ocean. I’ll definitely be back again!!

The Mar Monte hotel is situated in a very beautiful area of Santa Barbara, just across the street is the beach!
We were greeted upon arrival by Lauren who went out of her way to make sure my birthday weekend was special...and it was spectacular.
We did have a few problems with our room, very minor, but they were taken care of immediately.
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward returning in the future.
