At the last minute, we stayed an extra night in SB, and we needed a place with some kitchen amenities. We were referred to this place by staff at a nearby motel and were so blown away. The appearance from the street is nothing special but inside it all really works and more. This place has so many wonderful features, starting with lovely, helpful staff. The apartment reminded me of the home of someone's upscale grandma.. The rooms were large--a Parisian or New Yorker would be envious. T The furnishings are artistic without being pretentious. Nice colors, harmonious things--not especially hip but really nice. Much of the furniture was real wood, some with artistic carvings, pretty, things that made you look again. And the fabrics were lovely. I've never before been motivated to take a picture of a bathroom curtain, but in this case--yes, it was a lovely lacy cotton fabric. And the other curtains were also really nice fabric--not the usual hotel quality. As was the spread (which is washed and dried between every stay). The bed was great and we both slept well which was a minor miracle. We are used to settling for a cramped mini-fridge and microwave, but were happy to get a real fridge and stove where we could cook. Everything was real--no cheap plastic plates or bowls--real ceramic. Everything worked! Whether it was the air controls, lighting, locks, etc.--nothing was shabby or difficult or requiring of a manual to figure it out. As for the housekeeping, -the place was gleaming. There is a central courtyard with a garden and tall trees, in which birds make a racket at sunrise and sunset. That was such a treat! Instead of having ugly and noisy cars in front of your room, you have flowers and greenery and birds...with little sitting areas so you can enjoy them. Finally, the location. Easy walk to downtown, super close to the beach, and yet not on a noisy main drag, which is a half block away. What else could you want?
