Hotel Dunas de Sal

Hôtel super !! Le personnel est vraiment fantastique, la chambre est spacieuse et propre, l’emplacement est top : à 2 min de la plage et proche centre ville. On s’y sent bien. Nous avons ADORÉ nos vacances, je recommande cet hôtel vivement ! Le prix est bas pour la grande qualité ! Super, merci pour tout !!!

Very pleasant and comfortable hotel: room, common area, swimming pools. Close to the beach and 20 minutes walk from the center (taxis are available at all times). Smaller than others on the island which makes it a more authentic experience with very good staff always available.

The hotel is really very pretty, the staff very friendly and smiling and the food very good. The beach is magnificent and access to the village via the promenade is very pleasant

Let's start with the few positive points. The location. The hotel is located outside the center of Santa Maria is very quiet and close to the beach. There are deckchairs offered by the hotel, with free linen and changed daily but the whole thing seems a little shabby but it's ok. Architecture. The construction is original U-shaped hotel and relatively small number of rooms. We can be a little disturbed by the configuration of the rooms and their access (need to pass in front of the terraces of the other rooms to access ours, via the terrace) but it has its charm. Nice garden and beautiful swimming pool. Cleanliness level is OK, cleaning is done every day. The furniture, however, is dated and could do with some updating. It is very windy on the island of Sal and the room doors are not well soundproofed. Earplugs recommended. The restaurant and its service, two very negative points which explain my rating. I had chosen half-board and I did not know that the evening meal did not offer a buffet but an a la carte menu. Why not, I have already tested this formula except that this is making fun of the world. No cold buffet (salad, cheese), no bread, no dessert buffet, unlike the type of hotel I had tested elsewhere which offered à la carte menus but with a salad and bread buffet and desserts. There are certainly always 3 choices of starters, main courses and desserts but it’s a joke. Main dishes are often not accompanied by any potatoes or rice, and the quantities are minimal. Flavorless, greasy, canteen cuisine while the setting of the restaurant seems to take on gastronomic areas. Not to mention the configuration of the tables, stuck 30 cm from each other, with no privacy between customers. Desserts… A laugh! Fruit of the day: a kiwi cut into 4 pieces, a plum cut into 5 pieces, 5 ultra-thin slices of orange... Never seen before! I have already eaten more generous and much better dishes in 3-star hotels. The evening service is often bad, with an unfriendly waiter who seems not to have appreciated my comments and my disappoin**ent and made me feel it throughout my stay. You have to constantly ask for a glass, cutlery, salt, etc. The morning service, on the other hand, is much friendlier and the breakfast is OK even if here too an effort could be made by offering some fresh fruit. Also, offering a small bottle of water per day as many half-board hotels do would be welcome. In summary, a few positive points but a lot of work and a lot of effort to do for the service and the restaurant.

We are currently in this very nice hotel. Everything is very clean and well maintained, pool, garden etc. Service very friendly. We also think it is very good to be able to decide when the towels are changed ourselves. It is a short walk to the beach, and there are also free loungers available from the hotel. The beach is great. We can recommend this hotel without reservation. Beautiful

Stay in February 2024. The Lookea club team was perfect during our vacation. Serena advises with kindness and transparency. Always available for vacationers. Jeremias shows great dynamism, joy and friendliness. Very adaptable, he is a great part of the team. Thomas, the village chief, also takes care of vacationers. Always ready to stop to chat, advise us etc. Nuria is a real ray of sunshine. Full of energy and humor. Heloise and Sarah will also know how to make your vacation a little more joyful and pleasant. In short, a very nice team who will accompany you at every moment of your stay. Thank you to them for their presence.
