Já conheço muitas das pousadas do Grupo Pestana, mas esta é sem dúvida uma das mais bonitas e mais acolhedoras em que já estive. Para quem quer conhecer as imediações, a ida até ao centro de Estremoz é fácil e rápida de se fazer a pé. Recomendo vivamente e faço questão de voltar em breve.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pousada Castelo Estremoz. It’s in the old town of Estremoz on a hilltop: you drive through an arch and over a drawbridge, up cobbled streets to a square where there’s free parking. The hotel certainly has a wow factor: it’s like stopping in a museum with many historical items and paintings set in grand rooms. Our room was actually quite small and the bathroom tight but had everything you needed although getting things like extra drinking water was not so easy. We ate in the restaurant - nice food and certainly grand if not a little formal for us. Breakfast was quite simply amazing - so much choice and all really good quality. I loved our stay - the odd quirks of staying in a historic building are massively outweighed by the amazing experience and I would highly recommend the hotel.

Uma Pousada maravilhosa, com um excelente pequeno almoço e um staff com um verdadeiro sentido do dever. Quartos agradáveis, lamenta-se que as torneiras e a pressão da água não sejam adequadas. Promete-se um regresso à casa da Rainha Santa.

Historic hotel beautifully decorated with pool. Staff provided the best service of any hotel I have stayed at ever. Kind, friendly and attentive. Check in, check out, room cleaning, breakfast service all completed efficiently. Wonderful breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Good value.

**Avaliação da Pousada de Estremoz (Grupo Pestana)** Como turistas assíduos e apreciadores dos melhores hotéis da Europa , já tivemos a oportunidade de ficar várias vezes em quase todas as pousadas do grupo Pestana no Alentejo. Todas são excelentes a todos os níveis: qualidade dos quartos, limpeza, qualidade do pequeno-almoço, atendimento ao cliente, entre outros. Contudo, há uma exceção: a Pousada de Arraiolos, que fica muito aquém das outras a todos os níveis. Devemos destacar que a Pousada de Estremoz é, sem dúvida, a nossa preferida, superando as demais em todos os aspetos. Além das instalações magníficas e do serviço impecável, gostaríamos de deixar uma nota de apreço especial ao Sr. Isaurindo. A sua simpatia e profissionalismo são verdadeiramente notáveis e infelizmente raros de encontrar nos dias de hoje. É um prazer voltar sempre a esta pousada, onde nos sentimos realmente bem-vindos e valorizados.

Brilliant hotel - amazing decor and architecture, good service, lovely pool and amazing value. Breakfast nice too - a must for families looking for a quick break in a lovely old town. July in Alentejo a bit too hot though but the lovely hotel can’t do much about that!!

Wow - we loved this hotel so much! The property was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the rooms were nice and clean. Beautiful views from everywhere - we especially loved the bar with the tables situated toward the windows looking out on Alentejo. I hope to stay there again!

Absolutely stunning hotel, situated on the hilltop, overlooking Estremoz. Steeped in history, this unique place has views to die for. Whether it’s from your room, the bar, the pool or the gardens, the view is incredible. However, you must take the 137 stone steps up the tower for the ultimate viewpoint! On arrival, the staff on reception will give you a sheet detailing the history of the castle. Make sure you read it because it is fascinating. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant, which was a shame, but we did have breakfast the following morning which was fine. The rooms are lovely with antique furniture and huge, high ceilings. Unfortunately, our only criticism would be the staff. There was a definite lack of enthusiasm. On arrival I struggled up the stairs with all my bags, and there was no offer of help - despite it being obvious I was struggling. At the pool, the bar man was trying to manage the inside bar and pool bar at the same time, so seemed very grumpy. At breakfast there was no cheery welcome or good morning. Perhaps they are understaffed? Anyway, despite this, we would certainly recommend this hotel. After all, anywhere that is accessed by a drawbridge has to be worth it, doesn’t it?!

Great beds, food and service, everything was spotlessly clean, but the thing that most impressed us was checking out, there were no taxis available and the hotel manager, without being asked, drove us to the bus station, saving us a long walk.
