On December 1, 2021 we spent the night at the Route 66 ****** and Hotel. We were driving back to San Antonio area after having a great week visiting family in Seattle for Thanksgiving. Two weeks later I received my credit card bill. I discovered two changes. 1) The $135 standard charge for the room. 2) $160 charge with no explanation. I called the Hotel and asked why there was a charge on my credit card for $160. The front desk person said I stole 5 pillows. I asked to speak with management and I was told to call back on Monday. I called on Monday and Betty transferred me and I left a message. I waited a few hours and spoke to Betty and she transferred me to another voicemail. About one hour later the person in charge of events and groups spoke to me about the situation and said that she would relay the information to the manager of the hotel. Today is Thursday and I am still waiting for a conversation with the Route 66 Hotel manager. I called my Credit Card company and filed a dispute with the charge. The credit card company agreed to refund my card for the $160. I hope to speak with the Manager about the false accusation that I took 5 pillows. Just out of curiosity and principal. I always travel with my own custom pillow to sleep with because I have had my C-6, C-7 discs replaced. I always put the Hotels pillows in the coat closet thinking that I am being considerate rather than putting them on the floor. I have never been accused of stealing anything from a hotel. This trip we stayed in 7 hotels and each time I put the pillows in the closet.
