Club Santana Beach & Resort

I didn't stay but I had lunch and spent an afternoon in the pool as access is possible upon payment. I tried again to have lunch/snack and spend the afternoon at the pool and was informed by the manager/director that they only served external customers until 3 pm (it was 2:50 pm) and that from then on the bar/snack service only served club guests. Positive points: location, facilities, friendliness of the receptionists, very attentive bar staff (in the local context) Negative points and those to be improved: contact between the manager/responsible person and the customer was mediocre, poor price-quality ratio of the food, beer served hot, juice natural was Compal.

The site is magnificent. The bungalows are very comfortable and spacious but too overlooked when you are on the terrace. This will be the big disappoin**ent of our stay compared to the other hotels where we stayed. The establishment aims to be luxury and charges a price accordingly but is managed like a low-end "all inclusive". No warm a**osphere. The first day, room not made! No welcome drink on arrival or other attention. The buffet style catering is very mediocre and be there early otherwise you will only have leftovers and don't count on the staff to hand over dishes. The prices at the beach restaurant are exorbitant. If the infinity pool is magnificent, the management has decided to cut down the coconut trees and trees that overlook it...so relaxation to the sound of the chainsaws and the smell of 2-stroke oil rather than waiting for the closing schedule the following week. ..lack of respect for customers unacceptable at this price. A real management problem... Too bad

Escolhi este hotel porque tinha praia,o que não acontecia se tivesse ficado na cidade de S.Tomé. E foi uma boa opção.O resort é muito agradável,os bungalows espaçosos e muito confortáveis. A piscina junto ao mar,mar óptimo para nadar,as espreguiçadeiras dão para a piscina e para o mar. O pequeno almoço é bom,com muita fruta.Jantei sempre no hotel,estava em regime de meia pensão,e a comida era boa,sempre como peixe fresco como opção.O pessoal atencioso apesar que lhes falta formação. O top do resort para mim são as vistas magníficas para o mar e o jardim sempre bem arranjado onde se espalham os bungalows. Importante pedir um bungalow com vista para o mar,os números 1 a 5 são os melhores. Penso que este hotel seja dos melhores senão o melhor para quem queira conhecer a ilha mas com acesso à praia.

Avons séjourné 3 nuits dans cet hôtel. Accueil et service bons et chaleureux. Le site est magnifique, tant la plage, que la piscine, que les jardins. Les bungalow sont grands, biens décorés, propres. Bonne literie et SDB grandes. Notre bungalow surplombait la baie...top. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. Les repas du soir corrects mais c'est là où peut mieux faire. Nous avons pu faire une sortie en bateau (compris dans le prix). Le rapport qualité prix est donc bon.

Personalmente sono convinto che Club Santana rappresenti la migliore scelta per chi vuole godere pienamente la bellezza di Sao Tomè e del suo mare senza rinunciare al comfort. L’hotel è collocato infatti a meno di 30 minuti dalla piccola capitale ed è adagiato in una splendida spiaggia lussureggiante punteggiata di barche di pescatori e di piccoli assembramenti umani locali. L’hotel offre una spiaggia attrezzata, una splendida piscina a sfioro letteralmente sul mare ed un ristorante sempre sulla spiaggia. Per il resto la struttura è caratterizzata di bungalow disseminati su una collina con viste incomparabili della spiaggia e di altri tratti di mare davvero stupendi. Il ristorante principale sorge invece nella parte più alta della collina ed è molto piacevole. I bungalow sono abbastanza spaziosi, semplici e comunque funzionali, alcuni posizionati con viste di mare parziali (perché ridotte dalla rigogliosa vegetazione) altri più all’interno comunque simile ed un po’ meno costosi. La struttura non è nuova, sicuramente un po’ datata, ma nel complesso è ben tenuta ed in qualche modo riesce ad essere ampiamente confortevole. Anche il wifi funziona piuttosto bene dappertutto, inclusa la spiaggia. I prezzi non sono certamente bassi, sicuramente tra i più elevati dell’isola includendo formule di mezza pensione e pensione completa. La cucina nel complesso è di discreto livello anche se, con l’albergo piuttosto pieno, offerta nella maggior parte dei casi con la formula buffet che non prediligo. Sempre considerati i prezzi ci si aspetterebbe una maggiore varietà nel buffet e maggiore scelta della materia prima più disponibile in loco, cioè il pesce. Considerata la location e la struttura, tenendo conto dei prezzi, si potrebbe fare qualcosa in più in termini di servizio complessivo, con qualche occasionale caduta di livello specie nell’area ristorazione un po’ per carenza di personale un po’ perché il livello dello stesso andrebbe migliorato. Specie per la quasi assenza di personale parlante lingue diverse dal portoghese. Ho sollevato al comunque attento e disponibile management dell’hotel queste piccole carenze in termini di servizio auspicando un adeguato miglioramento che renderebbe Club Santana quasi perfetto e meritevole del massimo dei voti. Comunque sia una esperienza positiva e decisamente ripetibile al punto di avermi indotto a riprenotare una camera ripassando per Sao Tomè al ritorno dall’incomparabile tour nell’isola di Principe.

Service is very attentive, and service is excellent. Everything of very good quality. The space is always in impeccable condition. The only drawback will be considering, and charging, a bungalow on the second line with the sea view obstructed by palm trees as a sea view. This extra takes the price/night well above what is acceptable for identical spaces. There are also no frequent transport services to leave the resort (two days a week a shuttle between the hotel and the city) which will not be a problem if the aim is just to enjoy the landscape and facilities. Please note that you will have to hire a car, taxi or driver for dinner outside the resort. The friendliness and attention of all the staff is unsurpassable. The resort has a diving center that offers equipment for snorkling, in addition to the most complete diving experiences.
