Lake Marion Resort and Marina

Lake Marion is simply a campground with some primitive, outdated cabins. While clean, the cabins are very small, only full size beds can go into the bedrooms with barely enough space to get around the bed. The small kitchen table with only three chairs, a stained love seat sofa and a recliner share the living space with a refrigerator, stove, counterspace and a dishwasher and sink. A fourth chair could not be added to the kuchen table without rearranging the other furniture. Two people have to be careful of colliding if in this space. The dishwasher was not operational, the GFI outlet was not working and could not be reset, and the refrigerator door would not completely close. The website said the office was open 24 hours, but in reality, office hours were 9-5, except for Tuesday, when it was closed totally. The dock should be deemed unsafe, the stairs and berths appear to be rotting and missing boards. These accomodations are certainly not typical of RCI resorts.

Place has unprofessional staff. Lady in the office ignored me and just sat at her desk stating they have nothing available and didn't stand up to welcome us and barley looked at us. Not a resort at all. Worst experience going through South Carolina.

What a beautiful location. The lake is split through I95 and you can get off the highway right at the lake. The lake is enormous, but looks beautiful beyond amazement. This is a very large lake with many parks, marinas, and fishing all over. People in the area are very friendly. I would suggest if you like to fish to come here. What an amazing place.
