Hotel Rua Villar

Location: Excellent central location near major attractions and cathedral, ensuring easy access to shops, restaurants, and transportation options. Many guests highlighted proximity to the cathedral and surrounding areas as a significant advantage.(based on 1 review)

This is an amazing hotel: comfortable and well decorated, historic, and literally a stone's throw from the cathedral. In the heart of historic Santiago, yet very quiet rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we loved all of the artwork. Fantastic place to stay.

We stayed in the Gallery double room which is one of the more expensive rooms and this was our 3rd stay at this hotel. The room is quite dark but pleasant with exposed stonework. There is a balcony to sit on but a restricted view due to the narrow street. There’s air conditioning in the room which is not silent but ok. The passageway between the wall and the bed is narrow and there’s only one bedside table, the other by the cupboard is very small. The compact bathroom has a bath shower which is not suitable for the less mobile. There is a fridge with various drinks but no free water and no tea and coffee making facilities. The Rua Villar is a noisy street during the day and on Festivals but there are internal doors to the balcony which shut out the sound. There is a small and pleasant breakfast room on the ground floor which caters for passers by as well as guests. The buffet is adequate with hot and cold choices and fresh orange juice but we’ve never discovered if you can ask for a freshly cooked breakfast and it would be nice if they offered it to us. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and we spent two nights there enjoying the Camino atmosphere after completing the Primitivo Way.
